Seeking to firmly bind Sword Douluo and his grandson, Chen Feng, to the sect, Ning Fengzhi long intended to arrange a marriage between Chen Feng and his pampered daughter, Ning Rongrong 24 62. However, as Chen Feng's true talent emerged and he chose to leave to establish the rival Sword God Academy, Ning Fengzhi's attitude shifted from indifference to anxiety and desperation, fearing the loss of his powerful Title Douluo protectors 62 130.

As the Chen Clan's influence grew and the Heavenly Secret Pavilion—run by Ningguang—systematically crippled the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect's economic lifelines, Ning Fengzhi attempted political maneuvers, seeking alliances with the Heaven Dou Imperial Family, Shrek Academy, and the Clear Sky Sect's Tang Yuehua to eliminate Chen Feng 97 130 209 294. Following a failed ambush and the financial collapse of his sect's assets, Ning Fengzhi was forced to sell his sect's holdings to the Heavenly Secret Pavilion at market value 210 315. Shortly after, the Sword God Sect launched a night raid on the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 316. Ning Fengzhi was intercepted and killed by Chen Feng while trying to help his daughter escape 317.
