The count, thoroughly satisfied, bade farewell to the Grand Patriarch and left the Imperial Clan Court. He called for Chen Wu and Duke Chen's Crown Prince to share a carriage with him as they continued the day's tour.
"Count, you encountered an assassin today and yet remained so calm. That was truly valiant," Chen Wu praised as soon as they boarded the carriage.
Flattering the count was merely a way to open the conversation and probe into the assassin's circumstances.
"Hahaha, actually, it is because my carriage is lined with steel plates. Ordinary firearms pose no threat to it," the count replied with a laugh. "That assassin could not hurt me."
"Even so, it was extremely dangerous. That man was a Concentrated Spirit Realm expert," Chen Wu said.

"What sort of people are they?" Hearing this secret of France, Chen Wu grew curious as well.

The count nodded, but the Crown Prince wore a blank look, completely unable to understand what the two were talking about.
"The Old Man of the Mountain's martial arts spread to Europa, and thus the Assassin Brotherhood came into being."
Great Shun has them too! Chen Wu cried inwardly.
One branch of the Yongjiu School called itself the Old Man of the Mountain Faction. Its martial arts were said to have entered the Central Plains from beyond its borders. Chen Wu had never expected France to have people cultivating the same arts.
