Slurp, slurp, slurp. Rona sucked at the Coke cup until all that remained was ice, making a loud gurgling sound. The little girl was not trying to drink even the melted ice water; she simply thought it was fun.
Inside the burger joint, Luo Xia's family of three sat on one side of a large round table, with the four teenagers Luo Xia had just taught a lesson sitting opposite them.
Other than the sound of Rona slurping ice from her Coke, the table was so quiet it was awkward.
At the convenience store, Luo Xia had been somewhat surprised to hear Alex claim that he had been framed. How heartless did parents have to be to commit murder and then pin the crime on their own child?
Out of sympathy and curiosity, Luo Xia had brought the four teenagers away from the convenience store and found a twenty-four-hour burger joint where they could sit down.
Luo Xia's family of three was quite carefree. They casually ordered some food and happily dug in. The other four teenagers, however, had just been put in their place by Luo Xia and all seemed too embarrassed to lift their heads.
Though they were quite hungry as well, they could only sit awkwardly across from them, not knowing what to say.
In the end, it was Alex, the Black teenager, who spoke first. "Sir, since you brought us here, does that mean you believe what I told you?"
"You can call me Luo Xia. As for what you said—that your father is the murderer—I'm just curious. I wouldn't say I believe you yet. If you can't convince me, I'll hand you over to S.H.I.E.L.D."
