But just as the opening ended and the main event was about to begin, the screen suddenly switched.
A highly futuristic-looking facility appeared on the television, like one of those experimental bases from Resident Evil where zombies were cultivated.
"What the hell? Did the signal get messed up?"
"Call and complain, now! I want to watch The Walking Dead!"
"Fuck, who changed my channel? Bring me my Browning!"
Similar roars of outrage erupted nonstop, the fury of devoted viewers whose updates had been interrupted.
But they soon discovered that no matter which channel they switched to, they saw the same footage. When a line of text appeared on the television, their anger turned to shock—then to an even more terrifying rage.
"Live broadcast: the inhumane human modification program of the United States government. What you are seeing is not a movie, but an ongoing persecution of free will."
The footage showed countless people immersed in transparent incubation chambers. The youngest were only a few years old, while the oldest had hair as white as snow.
Without exception, their bodies were covered in horrifying wounds. Tubes had been driven into their flesh, creating a cruel and terrifying sight. Some of the test subjects did not seem to be fully unconscious. They kept convulsing and slamming into the glass chambers.
