Mechanics

Spirit Rings are produced when a Soul Beast dies and are absorbed by Soul Masters to strengthen a Martial Soul and acquire Spirit Skills. A ring dissipates if it is not absorbed within an hour. 3 11

The age and quality of a Spirit Ring affect both the difficulty of absorption and the power gained from it. Lin Ming's unusually high ring ages contributed several additional Soul Power levels compared with ordinary absorption choices. 9

Hunting Soul Beasts

A Soul Master may kill a suitable Soul Beast and absorb the Spirit Ring left behind.

• Lin Ming killed an 800-year Giant Claw Dragon with the Sky-Propping Spear for his first ring. 3
• He selected an 18,000-year Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear for his fourth ring because its age approached his tested limit and it had a high chance of yielding a valuable Soul Bone. 11

Sacrifice

A sentient Soul Beast or immortal herb can sacrifice its life force directly to a Soul Master. This process is gentler than ordinary ring absorption and can rapidly raise Soul Power. 60
