Holy Calendar Year 250. It had been seven years since Lezhe—the "Dictator," "Lifelong Protector," "New Nation Leader," and "Butcher"—overthrew the feudal kingdom and founded the "New Nation."

During that time, Lezhe used his [Tyrant] ability to command an army of Infected, reclaiming one plague-ravaged city after another and rescuing their people.

At the same time, he had been relentlessly persecuting all creatures associated with the "supernatural."

The griffins and flower fairies of the Northern Territory had consequently gone extinct, while all manner of extraordinary creatures across the continent were mercilessly hunted down by the Infected legions.

Once the magical animals had been exterminated, it was humanity's turn.

Large numbers of "witches" were tied to stakes and burned to death, while those with red eyes were subjected to mass arrests on suspicion of being "vampires."

Scholars within the New Nation had even openly promoted theories of "bloodline purity," claiming that pureblooded humans were the noblest form of life, and devised an elaborate, cumbersome set of "screening rituals."

More ironically, most of the Scholars who promoted such theories were arrested as well, on the grounds that they had "excessive body hair" and were suspected Werewolves.

As a result, Lezhe's reputation plummeted, earning him the titles of "Dictator" and "Butcher."

By around Holy Calendar Year 247, after he had completely restored the former Maximilian Kingdom's territory and largely defeated the plague, this once wise and decisive leader had gradually begun to go mad.

After the external "supernaturals" had been almost entirely slaughtered, he turned his attention to his own army—the absolutely loyal Infected forces.

Countless high-ranking officers were arrested and secretly executed.
