As the Shinobi World's universally acknowledged greatest village, Konoha stood apart from the rest in many ways.
Take its name, for example. Other hidden villages used a single character, but Konoha insisted on using two.
Take ninjutsu, for another. Others specialized in one field, relying on whatever resources they had at hand, while Konoha had everything under the sun.
The same was true of the village's defenses.
Having wrung the Uzumaki Clan dry, Konoha possessed an enormous sensory barrier that completely covered the village. Through the Barrier Team's surveillance, it could detect the movements of any chakra-bearing life-form entering or leaving.
Such defenses were countless times more sophisticated than Sunagakure's Yixiantian Fortress.
And this was likewise the first problem Araki and the other two had to face if they wanted to infiltrate Konoha.
How could they bypass Konoha's sensory barrier?
Because Earth Release ninjutsu existed, the barrier did not merely cover the ground. It was a complete sphere, with no gaps in either the sky or underground.
The perfect method would have been to imitate Itachi Uchiha and Orochimaru from the original story: understand the barrier and the Barrier Team's operating patterns, then exploit the gaps during their shift changes to slip inside.
After all, there were perfect plans, but no perfect people. As long as someone was human, they would make mistakes.
Unfortunately, this was also an impossible task for Araki's group.
Kishimoto was mainly to blame for that. He probably had not figured out what the flaw in the barrier was himself.
But since Araki had proposed infiltrating the village, he naturally had a way to deal with the barrier.
The key was a clam summon.
The Land of Fire was blessed with lush mountains, clear waters, and abundant resources. Nestled within it, Konoha was naturally surrounded by
