After bidding farewell to the old boatman, White Fang and the other two traveled covertly to the outskirts of Kirigakure.
"Washi, find their location for us," White Fang said quietly.
"Byakugan, activate!"
Hyuga Washi formed hand seals with both hands. Veins bulged around his eye sockets, and his pure white pupils instantly became fierce. In his vision, every color faded away, and the entire world turned into a black-and-white image.
Yet within this black-and-white world, the radiance of chakra became striking and impossible to conceal.
His gaze slowly swept across Kirigakure inch by inch, carefully searching for the whereabouts of the three captives.
Although Kirigakure was nominally a village, as the Land of Water's largest military organization, its territory had long exceeded the scope of a mere village. Even the Byakugan could not see through the entire place at once.
Therefore, after Hyuga Washi made a full sweep without finding anything, they quietly changed positions and circled around the outskirts to the other side of Kirigakure.
After shifting their position several times in succession, Hyuga Washi finally found something.
"I see them! The three of them are together, two kilometers away in that direction!"
He pointed ahead. "And there are a lot of shinobi guarding them. Two of them have chakra no weaker than yours, Captain!"
"Excellent!"
Hatake Sakumo nodded. "Washi, stay here and receive us. Shihui, come in with me!"
"Yes, Captain!"
Drip!
Drip!
Murky droplets fell from the filthy ceiling. Some landed on the foreheads of Yamanaka Taku and the other two, while more splashed into the water around them.
"Are they still refusing to talk?"
A chilling voice rang out, making it feel as though a wet venomous snake were crawling along one's spine.
"B-Blood Fang-sama!"
The two Anbu responsible for the interrogation hurriedly rose and bowed.
