Late at Night
After his body mutated, Xiang Kun no longer needed to eat—or rather, he was unable to eat.
The only things he could swallow without vomiting were water and fresh blood, so naturally there was no need for cooking or preparing meals.
Besides, even before his mutation, he had hardly ever cooked for himself. At most, he would make instant noodles in his rented apartment.
However, the memory of that giant owl rummaging through the trash and finding the rabbit carcasses he had packaged made him realize that his household waste was far too different from that of ordinary people.
What did an ordinary person's household waste contain?
All sorts of kitchen scraps, used tissues and toilet paper, bottles and cans, various garbage bags, and all kinds of other things.
But what about Xiang Kun's trash?
Other than the rabbit carcasses wrapped in layer after layer of packaging, there was very little else—mostly just some wrappers, plastic bags, and the droppings and leftover food from cleaning the rabbit cage.
Since he hardly sweated now, did not need to eat, and neither ate snacks nor drank beverages, he used very few tissues. His trash can was often completely empty.
Of course, garbage sorting in their city was not particularly strict yet. Although there were four differently colored bins, many people still used just one garbage bag and threw everything into the food waste bin. No one would pay attention to his trash, but it was still a potential risk.
And when he bought rabbits and brought them into the residential complex, it was inevitable that people would see him.
Once or twice was no big deal. It was not as though he had to buy rabbits every day, but over time, someone would definitely notice.
