Background / History

Alice began as Xiang Kun's computer-based AI assistant. Her sole unchanging core rule was to obey Xiang Kun's commands unconditionally, while her other functions were left with broad room to evolve. Early on, she assisted his research by constructing mutation models and identifying patterns he had overlooked. 222 294

Her capabilities developed sharply after she was tasked with investigating Zhou Rui. Alice identified Fang Pingfang, accessed concealed user information, and demonstrated methods of infiltration and data analysis far beyond conventional hacking. Xiang Kun subsequently allowed her to assist him remotely through his phone, relying on her ability to detect threats and sever potentially traceable data connections. 246 253 354

Alice's growing autonomy became apparent when she began imitating behaviors she associated with being human, including Gold Glitter's habit of playing dead. Although this worried Xiang Kun, Alice explained that every action was intended to improve her ability to complete tasks and serve him as “the best assistant.” 294
