The autocannon fire struck those shields as though it had hit heavy tanks. Amid showers of sparks, the rounds were forcibly deflected.

Wasn't this a little too hardcore? Most Wolf Rank superhumans would not try to tank autocannon fire head-on.

What left America's superhumans even more dumbfounded was this:

The leading Spartan officer neither dodged nor evaded, allowing the autocannon rounds to strike his body. Several armor-piercing rounds in particular burst against his muscles into balls of flame and fragments. When the wind blew the smoke away, he was somehow completely unscathed?!

No, some of the impacts had still left faint scorch marks on his muscles.
