By the time Kyle and Newt left the Black Forest, it was already quite dark.
Standing beneath the long-missed moonlight, Newt still wore a pained expression as he complained that Kyle should not have destroyed such a vast stretch of forest.
"That was the only way I could think of to intimidate the werewolves," Kyle explained patiently. "Only by displaying absolute strength could I make them abandon some of their unrealistic fantasies.
"Didn't Professor Dumbledore say so too? Hatred should not be allowed to continue. If the werewolves appeared on the battlefield this time, then that goal would be absolutely impossible to achieve."
"I know everything you're saying, but..." Newt sighed.
Of course he knew it was the best choice. It meant they did not have to kill all the werewolves, while still deterring them from getting involved in this war. It could be called the best of both worlds, but he still found it a little regrettable.
