After leaving the Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee, Kyle had planned to visit his own office. After all, so many people had seen him; it would be hard to justify not showing his face.
But as he stepped into the lift, he spotted someone he knew standing inside.

"It's fine. I came prepared," Kyle said with a smile. "It won't be that easy for Voldemort to catch me. Besides, Fawkes brought me straight here from home. It was completely safe."

"I'm not important enough for Voldemort to throw everything aside and lead the Death Eaters in an attack on the Ministry, am I?" Kyle curled his lip. "And besides, he wouldn't dare."
