It was not only wandering wizards like Laines who possessed an exceptionally keen instinct for danger. Moody, as an Auror, was no less sharp in that regard.

That instinct had saved him from countless close calls, allowing him to fill half of Azkaban all by himself.

The moment he sensed something strange on his leg, Moody's entire body stiffened, and his hand unconsciously tightened around his wand.

Acting on instinct, the concealed magical eye began to turn on its own. But Moody reacted even faster. In that instant, he seemed to realize something. He immediately raised a hand, yanked out the uncontrollable magical eye, and clenched it tightly in his fist.

He used so much force that even the strap securing the magical eye was torn clean off.

"What a ruthless man!"

Watching this, Kyle could not help clicking his tongue.

Moody must have gotten some information from Dumbledore, which was why he had acted like that.

But how should he put it... it was decisive, but completely unnecessary.

Kyle slowly raised his head.

There were not many people surrounding them. Including Laines, there were only a dozen or so, nowhere near as many as in Godric's Hollow.

And in just that short time, more than half of them had already fallen to the ground, motionless as though asleep.

A massive snake nearly fifty feet long was coiled in front of Kyle. Its orange-yellow pupils seemed to possess some kind of magic; any wizard who met its gaze lost their life in an instant.

That was also because those people had tried to be clever, spreading themselves across different positions to surround Moody in the middle.

As a result, they were scattered far apart. Once they encountered the Basilisk's gaze, there was not even anyone nearby to share the curse.
