Cedric led everyone in one direction.

For some reason, the once-lush vegetation on the Hebrides had mostly been cleared away. Even at night, the view was completely unobstructed.

After crossing a hilltop, the crowd immediately broke into sharp gasps.

This was clearly the site of a duel, but wasn't this a little too excessive?

The first thing they saw was a vast grayish swamp, almost as large as a Quidditch Pitch. The ground had split open with a crack nearly three feet wide and bottomless in depth, while the cliff faces on either side were pitted and scarred, likely blasted apart by magic.

It was hard to imagine what kind of fierce battle could have caused such devastation.

Mr. Weasley walked up to a massive boulder nearly as tall as he was and stared at it blankly.

The boulder had landed directly over the fissure and seemed to have crushed something beneath it, leaving blackened traces all around.

There was also a similarly shaped notch in the nearby cliff face.

"This was probably gouged out directly with magic," Scrimgeour concluded as he walked over.

He tried to use his wand to move the boulder off the fissure, but failed. The enormous rock merely wobbled before crashing back into place.

Only when Mr. Weasley and another Auror stepped forward to help did they barely manage to shift it with a Levitation Charm, stand it upright, and place it against the notch.

It fit perfectly.

"Was this done by Voldemort too?" someone asked, swallowing hard.

A rock that big would leave someone black and blue if it landed on them.

"I don't know. It could have been someone else." Mr. Weasley crouched down and carefully examined the black material.
