Chen Han held the orb in his hand, then sensed it with trepidation, his gaze still.
Within a few breaths, the Orb Artifact began to glow.
Without much hesitation, Chen Han opened his hand, and the colors of its light blossomed before his eyes.
There were no surprises, and the curious onlookers around him reacted the same way.

A five-element waste spiritual root, a four-element mixed spiritual root, a three-element true spiritual root, a dual-element earth spiritual root, and a single-element heavenly spiritual root.
In the Cultivation World, people with five-element waste spiritual roots were the most numerous after those with no spiritual roots at all. They could cultivate, but their progress was extremely slow. Even with abundant resources, they would struggle to achieve anything great in their lifetimes.
Four-element mixed spiritual roots were somewhat better. With abundant cultivation resources, along with some fortunate encounters and comprehension, there might be hope of breaking through to foundation establishment.
At this Ascension Conference, those with four-element mixed spiritual roots were slightly less numerous than those with five-element waste spiritual roots, but that was all. No one gave him a second glance because of it.
Chen Han handed the Root Testing orb to the person waiting behind him, his gaze barely wavering. Before the test, he had indeed hoped he might be a darling of heaven, but the possibilities he had considered most were five elements and four elements.
He knew those two were the most likely grades of his spiritual root.
*Four elements. I probably don't stand a chance at this Ascension Conference. As for aptitude, there's even less to say. I'm utterly ordinary, and only a body cultivator at that. Then there are cultivation arts, where I have even less to offer.
