"Release the king!"
The remaining demon hunter guards charged forward bravely.
Then, Yeger I seemed to see the black-robed old man snap his fingers. "Decay Ray!"
Beams of inky green light flashed past. The demon hunters' flesh began to rot away before they even reached him, leaving behind white skeletons that collapsed around him.
"You... what exactly are you?"
Yeger I stared at Masca, the corners of his eyes split open and blood streaming down his face.
"Mortal, you will never know what vast and glorious civilization you have offended..."
The sorcerer Masca smiled, suddenly seized Yeger I, and a gray, hazy light flickered in his eyes.
Yeger I's expression instantly turned vacant.
Then he heard Masca's voice. "Did you launch the rebellion and exterminate the Rog Royal Family of your own accord, or at another's instigation?"
"It was... my own... decision!" Yeger I answered stiffly, like a puppet pulled by strings.
"Where did your demon hunter enhancement technology come from?"
"From my scholar group. Its chief scholar is Stryker!" Yeger I continued to answer.
"Tell me everything about your past..."
Masca gave no indication of approval or disapproval and asked several more questions.
At some point, Grand Duchess Penelope had come to Masca's side. "My lord... the situation in the royal capital has already been brought under control. I believe those remaining nobles will see the situation clearly and help us wipe out the Lancaster Family!"
"This is a necessary warning!"
Masca pointed at Yeger I. "Three days from now, execute him before everyone in the royal capital, using the cruelest punishment... Let the world know the price of challenging us."
"Besides... these demon hunters are nothing special. The thinking behind their improved potions has a touch of novelty, but that is all."
Grand Duchess Penelope's heart immediately stirred.
