Shadorn Steam Train Station.
The platforms were even more crowded than usual, most of them citizens who had heard about the "sleeping sickness" and were hurriedly fleeing for safety.
Compared to the bustling crowds, those getting off the train were exceedingly few.
Among that sparse stream of arrivals, one group stood out in particular.
There were men and women among them, clustered around a tall woman in her thirties. She wore eyeshadow, and her clothes were adorned with all manner of metal ornaments, giving her a distinctly mechanical, avant-garde air.
As they left the station, a gentleman who had been waiting for some time immediately approached, removed his hat, and bowed. "You must be Madam Garde? I have prepared a residence for you. Please follow me."
The group took a carriage and stopped before a large villa in the city district.
Once they entered the villa and shut the doors, the gentleman's expression changed. He bowed once more to "Madam Garde," his face brimming with reverence like that of a fanatic beholding a god. "Great Lamplighter, welcome to this city! I am Stephen, the local representative of the school!"
"Pursuing the secret of the sunset is the highest purpose of our school. According to divination, crucial clues will appear here."
Garde, the Lamplighter of the Sunset School, spoke in a mechanical tone. "I need all intelligence concerning Shadorn Port in recent days, especially information regarding that 'nightmare.'"
The Sunset School primarily followed the pure Yao Pathway, so naturally, it did not lack diviners!
"Of course..."
As the local intelligence officer, Stephen merely closed his eyes to recollect for a moment before reciting each piece of information one by one.
Madam Garde, seated on the sofa and sampling coffee, gradually grew solemn. "It isn't a sleeping curse... but a spreading 'Law.'
