"Fortune's wheel keeps turning... Live long enough, and you really do get to see plenty of interesting things..."
Aaron carried a bundle of dried fish as he made his usual trip to Great Marsh Prefecture City to feed the cats.
"Hmm?"
As he entered the city gate, he saw that the guarding soldiers had all donned leather armor, sleeping with their weapons at hand. Their wolfish, tiger-like gazes swept over everyone entering the city, giving the place the air of a land beset by war.
Aaron arrived at Spring Return Hall. Even the medicine boy knew him by now and immediately shouted toward the rear hall, "Master... that fisherman's here again."
Aaron rolled his eyes and walked straight into the rear hall.
Old Ge looked a few years older than before. Though people had nicknamed him "Ge Longevity," he was not truly immortal. His energy had declined greatly over the past few years, and he was currently basking in the sun.
When he saw Aaron, he smiled. "You're already here, so why bring gifts?"
As the saying went, time revealed a person's heart. Old Ge believed that he and the young Fang Yu had become friends despite their difference in age.
Yet he never imagined... that he had encountered a true Longevity One putting on an act, steady as an old dog!
Three years of acting? Aaron could keep it up for another thirty without a problem!
"It's nothing, nothing."
Aaron set down the dried fish, lifted the teapot, and poured himself some tea, acting as familiar as if this were his own home.
Old Ge held back and held back, before finally saying, "Over these past years, you've practically emptied out all this old man's knowledge... Why not stop practicing martial arts altogether and take me as your master?
