The Beast King's death reinvigorated the Liberation Corps' morale. In an instant, the defensive line that had nearly collapsed and scattered stood firm once more. Whether they were biohuman squads or purebred soldiers, all of them roared with bloodshot eyes, either wildly brandishing their cold weapons or operating guns and cannons, making them roar madly.
In the sky, under their commanders' direction, the Liberation Corps airship fleet split into units and concentrated on sniping the flying bio-beasts. Though those flying creatures darted nimbly this way and that, they were still shot down one after another beneath the pursuit of countless energy beams. Some airships even rammed directly into larger flying creatures, perishing together with them. Before long, the flying bio-beasts that had invaded the skies above the city scattered with strange cries and fled in all directions.
On the wall, after holding out for a while, the re-formed defensive line began pushing back against the tide of bio-beasts. The biohuman squads led from the front while the purebred special assault corps held the rear. Without the assistance of the giant bio-beasts, the smaller creatures—such as Swiftshadow Wolves and Stone-Eating Rats—began to falter and gradually retreated. Some bio-beasts that had only just climbed onto the wall were instead shoved back down by the crowd behind them.
As for the massive A-rank bio-beasts, they were held back or even killed by Blood Thorn, Lester, Jordan, Barbara, and the others. A-rank bio-beasts were all commander-class creatures. Now, either they were being restrained or had been killed—how could they spare attention to command the other bio-beasts' assault? Even if three or four A-rank bio-beasts remained unattended and continued directing the battle, their effect was clearly limited.
At this point, the bio-beasts' offensive had effectively been dismantled.
