"Boss... I have a question for you. Why must we cooperate with that treacherous, cunning supervisor from the Umbrella Corporation? I don't understand. Even without the weapons and intelligence support from Umbrella, we could still avenge Old Ghost and the others!"
In a dim alleyway, four people held their guns, looking vigilant as they moved forward slowly in a specific formation.
As they walked, one of the people trailing behind Nicholas spoke up. This man was of average height and appearance, yet he had striking white hair, despite being only about thirty years old. This was White Mouse, a crazed demolition expert!
"The light that blooms in the instant of an explosion is like the rising sun over the sea; the sound produced by an explosion is, to me, more melodious and pleasant than a Beethoven symphony. All of this makes me hopelessly obsessed with it."
This was a phrase the guy often kept on his lips.
Nicholas said, "Without the weapons and intelligence support, we could indeed easily kill those Chinese agents. However, if we don't cooperate with the Umbrella Corporation, we won't be able to leave this godforsaken city, and sooner or later, we'll become food in the mouths of zombies. I must be responsible for you all."
"Fearing death is the mark of a coward!" White Mouse grunted, "Those people at the Umbrella Corporation are wolves who eat people without spitting out the bones. I'd rather die than work with them again!"
Nicholas said, "But I am your boss! I have the right to decide what you should and shouldn't do. Unless you want to leave Black Snake."
White Mouse's expression stiffened, and he lowered his head, falling silent.
A Black woman behind White Mouse patted his shoulder and laughed, "White Mouse, the boss is right. He is the boss, so just obediently follow orders." This Black woman, who had a scar across her face, revealed white teeth when she smiled, giving off a truly terrifying vibe.
White Mouse turned his head to glare at her, grunted twice, and said nothing more.
Instead, the Indian youth next to the Black woman spoke up: "You damn mouse, stop staring at my Fox with those beady eyes. Be careful, or I'll dig your eyeballs out."
"Mori, if you don't want to be turned into a human bomb by me, keep your mouth shut. Unless you want to see just how brilliant you look the moment you explode."
The Indian youth, Mori, shrugged, took Fox's hand, and said, "I would indeed like to see that. But before that, you'd better not get poisoned by my Fox." As he spoke, Mori looked at Fox with eyes full of tenderness.
Fox also looked at Mori with a smile. They seemed to be showing off their mutual rapport.
"Alright, you lot," Nicholas said. "There's a time and place for bickering. If you want to live, pull yourselves together. It's time to work." With that, he looked up.
Just then, a white light projected down from the sky, accompanied by the sound of propellers churning the air. The four looked up and could vaguely see the red and white Umbrella logo branded on the bottom of the helicopter!
Two metal crates were dropped from the aircraft, landing not far from where Nicholas and his team stood...
"Let's go, boys. Let's see what our old client has prepared for us." Nicholas waved his hand and led the way.
Back at the location of the phone booth.
Yin Kuang tilted his head, looking at the helicopter in the sky, and said, "They certainly are in a hurry."
A metal crate plummeted from high altitude, carrying a sharp whistling sound as it slammed fiercely into the pavement not far from Yin Kuang, leaving a dent in the asphalt.
Yin Kuang picked up the receiver nearby and smiled, "Respected sir, I have received your gift. Thank you for your generosity. Of course, I hope you haven't tampered with it. The black dog and I are always together."
Having said that, he didn't care what the person on the other end said; he picked up the Labrador and walked over to the metal crate, which was stamped with the Umbrella Corporation logo on all four sides.
He placed Guide Dog Mary on the front of the crate while he moved to the back, then reached out and slowly opened it.
Yin Kuang couldn't afford to be anything but cautious. Dealing with the Umbrella Corporation was like walking a tightrope over a bottomless abyss; one slip, and the result would be a shattered body and eternal damnation!
If the Umbrella Corporation had rigged the crate and Yin Kuang handled it carelessly, he might not even know how he died.
The crate was finally opened completely. No poison gas, no bombs, no traps.
Yin Kuang let out a sigh of relief.
Only then did he walk to the front of the crate to inspect the contents.
Ten black, custom-made high-explosive grenades, an M4-style black rifle, two rifle magazines, two black USP pistols, four pistol magazines, a combat knife, a coil of wire, a medical kit with a red cross, and a set of Umbrella Corporation security uniforms—including a helmet, knee and elbow pads, boots, gloves, a bulletproof vest, night-vision goggles, and more. There were even two cans of beef and a pack of compressed biscuits.
There were many items, all very complete; it was clear that the person had put in some effort, considering everything Yin Kuang might need.
Yin Kuang looked at the items in the metal crate, momentarily at a loss for words.
"Sigh, so many good things, I really hate to throw them away." Yin Kuang picked up a pistol, but he didn't receive any prompt from the Headmaster, nor was there any detailed description of the gun.
"It seems this is what Senior Xiong Ba called a 'plot item'," Yin Kuang gave a wry smile. "In that case, it's no pity to throw them away. Since they can't be put into the inventory, they certainly can't be taken out of this scenario world."
So-called "plot items" were a collective term for various objects appearing in the scenario world, such as weapons, equipment, and special tools. "Plot items" could be used, but they could not be taken out of the scenario world; they could only be used within the "scenario." Therefore, the Headmaster would not provide any descriptions. Furthermore, they could not be placed in the "inventory" and had to be carried by hand, which was very troublesome.
Yin Kuang's "inventory" had three slots, which could only hold three items. One held "Mary's Heart Blood," and the other two were empty.
Just as Yin Kuang was frowning, a crisp ringing sound echoed—it was a mobile phone placed inside the metal crate.
Yin Kuang curled his lip and answered the call.
"How is it, little Chinese boy? Are you satisfied with this gift? I believe that with these, you can easily avenge your dead friends."
"I am very satisfied. Thank you very much," Yin Kuang smiled.
"Then I shall quietly await your good news. I am eager for our transaction to be completed as soon as possible. After all, Raccoon City is a place where danger exists everywhere."
"You shall have your wish."
With that, Yin Kuang hung up the phone.
"It's about to begin... I hope everything goes according to my plan..."
After speaking, Yin Kuang bent down, dragged the metal crate with effort, and walked toward the darkness...
On the flickering screen, the Chinese boy, hunched over as he dragged the metal crate, gradually faded into the pitch-black night...
The supervisor of the Umbrella Corporation's Raccoon City branch crooked his mouth, a look of deep disdain flashing in his cold eyes, and said: "Track his signal, lock onto his location... then transmit his coordinates to that fool, Nicholas. Heh heh, little Chinese boy, enjoy the meal I've sent you. When two fish fight, I, the fisherman, wait on the sidelines to reap the profit. Heh heh."
Perhaps if this supervisor understood more Chinese culture, he would have been better off saying, "When the snipe and the clam grapple, the fisherman reaps the benefit."
"Yes, sir," the blonde woman replied.
Following this, the supervisor beckoned, calling over the bear-like, muscular Black man standing beside the tent flap, and said, "Don't we still have a logistics unit?"
"Sir, the logistics team is our last remaining deployable force," the muscular Black man said, seemingly understanding the supervisor's intent. "At the same time, it is the camp's final line of defense. Because the 'Cleaner' plan is about to be executed, we must ensure the safety of the camp. Furthermore, only the corporate headquarters has the authority to deploy the logistics unit."
The supervisor turned his head slowly and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't quite hear what you said?"
"Sir..."
"Obey orders, Mr. Security," the supervisor stared at the muscular Black man, his cold, piercing gaze looking straight into his soul as he said, "You saw it too. Although I don't have the authority to use that force, I certainly have the power to fire you. Besides, do you really think anyone would come to visit our camp at a time like this? As the host, I would be more than happy to entertain them properly."
A flicker of struggle flashed through the muscular Black man's eyes, but finally, he clicked his heels together, stood tall, and said, "Yes, sir!"
"Very good, Mr. Security," the supervisor squeezed out a smile and said, "Dispatch your logistics unit and find a place to hide them well. Then, when they have both exhausted each other, take them all down. Remember, try to keep them alive. I haven't had the chance to properly entertain them yet."
"Yes, sir!"
The Black man let out a roar and retreated from the command post.
"Little Chinese boy, isn't it the T-Virus you want so badly? Rest assured, I have prepared plenty, plenty of T-Virus here for you..."
