Background

Tang Ya is the surviving Sect Master of the declining Tang Sect. Her parents died when the Iron Blood Sect and allied forces destroyed the Tang Sect and occupied its former headquarters in Heaven Dou City. Following her parents' dying wish, she entered Shrek Academy, while preserving the Tang Sect's remaining inheritance and pursuing revenge against the Iron Blood Sect. 50 73 74

She meets Yu Daoyun at Shrek's Beast Fighting Arena alongside Beibei and Xu Sanshi. Impressed by his overwhelming strength, she attempts to recruit him into the Tang Sect, offering its techniques and hidden-weapon heritage; he firmly refuses because he does not wish to be bound to a sect. 16 17 19

Although her ordinary Blue Silver Grass is widely dismissed as weak, Yu Daoyun identifies its true Devouring attribute and takes her to the Blue Silver Forest for cultivation.
