The war between the Marines and the Beasts Pirates had begun in daylight and raged on into the night.
In the night sky, glittering stars gathered into bands across the horizon, surrounding the bright moon as it illuminated Risky Red Island.
But no one on Risky Red Island had the leisure to admire the beautiful nightscape overhead.

From deep within the island came the intermittent explosions of cannon fire. Brilliant flames instantly lit up half the sky. Across the island, the roars of Marines and pirates rose and fell one after another, filling what should have been a tranquil night with cries of battle and slaughter.
When Kaido led his men to attack the Dawn warship in an attempt to rescue King, he had taken several of the strongest officers in his crew with him. But quite a few hidden experts still remained on Risky Red Island.
Not every pirate in the Beasts Pirates was an ambitious climber seeking power. Some had simply been left with no choice and taken refuge under the Beasts Pirates' protection, keeping a low profile while quietly waiting for a chance to leave the Beasts Pirates and sail the seas on their own.
And the Marines' arrival gave that group of pirates a genuine opportunity to escape Risky Red Island.
With Kaido and the officers no longer there to restrain them, when Garp and Zephyr led their forces onto Risky Red Island, those whose hearts had never truly belonged to the Beasts Pirates pulled out the assets they had kept hidden. That night, countless small boats that should not have been there suddenly appeared on the western side of Risky Red Island.
Under cover of darkness, they hurriedly sailed away from Risky Red Island.
The officers who had left and never returned, the companions
