The sweet scent of candy wafted into her nose.
Chen Xi looked into the distance and saw Lin Yue sitting elegantly beneath a parasol. She wore gold-rimmed glasses and held a steaming cup of black tea in her hands.
"Get ready to be won over by me." Chen Xi stretched her limbs and declared confidently.
"Hehe." Lin Yue neither confirmed nor denied it. "No rush. Have some tea first."
"But doesn't time pass even faster here than it does outside?" Chen Xi said, but still took her time sitting down and savoring the tea.
The moment the tea touched her tongue, a sweet flavor spread through her mouth, like drinking from a mountain spring.
"Delicious." Chen Xi folded her hands on the table and put on a solemn air. "But let's get down to business soon, or I'm afraid we won't have enough time."
"Don't worry." Lin Yue calmly poured her another cup. "I can actually control the flow of time in the Inner World and make it match the outside at a ratio of one to one."
"I simply had no need to do that before, so I didn't."
"It can do that too?" Chen Xi looked astonished.
She continued, "If time passes at the same rate as outside, can we still recover our energy like before?"
"No." Lin Yue slowly shook her head. "In that case, our state will be no different from ordinary sleep."
"That's fine, I guess. It's better than nothing." Chen Xi drained her cup of tea.
"Come on!" She stared boldly at Lin Yue.
