First: when will the extras be released?
How long do I plan to make them?
Very, very, very short—perhaps only six or seven thousand words. They'll be updated as usual tomorrow.
As for why I'm only writing so little?
In truth, after Chen Xi and Lin Yue faced off against the Lamenter, the main storyline of this book was more or less complete.
Everything after that was essentially an alternative kind of extra chapter already. I just never stated it outright. I wrote everything I wanted to write, so there isn't really much left to write for extras.
Second: when will the next book begin?
I don't know either. We'll see. Maybe half a year from now, maybe in a few days—who knows. Since I'm writing from a backlog, my current point in time is May 24th. (Fog)
If there is another book, I'll most likely still write gender-bender fiction, but the romance definitely won't be as rich as it was in this one. It'll be more like seasoning.
And during the process of writing, I suddenly realized that perhaps I don't actually know how to write gender-bender fiction.
While this book was being updated, readers would occasionally complain that I was writing a BG romance in gender-bender clothing, that Chen Xi's masculine way of thinking was far too obvious.
Of course, different people see things differently.
Beyond that, there was also a conflict in the underlying logic.
Some readers have probably noticed that among the gender-bender books on the site, most protagonists are soft, cute girls. There are very few valiant female warriors.
Because this concerns the underlying logic of the genre.
