Clairvoyance That Saw Through Past and Future! (Please Read!)

In the Type-Moon World, the living Gilgamesh possessed Clairvoyance, which allowed him to see the future.

As long as he wished, he could see the futures of his countless selves in parallel worlds and, through his own spirit and wisdom, deduce the past.

That was why Gilgamesh's Clairvoyance was also known as "Clairvoyance That Saw Through Past and Future."

After Gilgamesh became a Heroic Spirit, however, he lost his physical body and naturally lost his Clairvoyance as well.

But his Clairvoyance, together with his spirit and wisdom, automatically ascended into a permanently active Noble Phantasm after he became a Heroic Spirit: the Star of Omniscience.

This meant that the Star of Omniscience had the ability to see the future.

That was in the Type-Moon World, though.

In the Bleach world, the Star of Omniscience's ability to see the future was restricted. Gilgamesh couldn't actively look into the future and could only see it passively.

By "passively," that meant Gilgamesh would unpredictably catch glimpses of some random future.

But Gilgamesh had noticed that the Star of Omniscience seemed to be adapting to this world.

At first, he hadn't even been able to see the future passively.

If things continued like this, perhaps one day Gilgamesh would be able to look into the future at will.

The reason Kaien Shiba had come to visit tonight was that Gilgamesh had passively seen this future.

He had also seen Isshin Shiba secretly following Kaien Shiba there.

So Gilgamesh knew Isshin Shiba was there, and even knew where he was hiding.

As for the future Gilgamesh had mentioned for Kaien Shiba, it wasn't something he had seen through the Star of Omniscience. But it had happened in the Bleach story, so it was real.

There was nothing wrong with Gilgamesh saying he had seen it in the future.

But Kaien Shiba, Yoruichi Shihouin, and Isshin Shiba didn't know any of that.

They were shaken by the fact that Gilgamesh could see the future, as well as by Kaien Shiba's tragic fate.

Kaien Shiba was especially affected. He had thought he was prepared, but when he learned what awaited him, his mind went blank with a roar, and for a moment, he didn't even know what he was thinking.

Yoruichi Shihouin came to her senses. Anxious, she wanted to say something.

But someone was clearly more anxious than she was. Isshin Shiba, who had been hiding nearby, forgot everything else and used Flash Step to appear in front of Gilgamesh. He asked urgently, "Hey, kid, are you talking nonsense?"

"How could Kaien possibly die horribly at the hands of a Hollow?"

"Sure, he's only a lieutenant right now, but his strength has long since reached Captain-level. How could he be possessed by some mere Hollow?"

Isshin Shiba's urgency was only natural.

Not only was Kaien Shiba his nephew, he was also the head of the Shiba Clan and the future and hope of the fallen clan.

Isshin was the head of a branch family himself, but among the nobility, bloodline mattered. The head family had the purest bloodline.

Naturally, Isshin didn't want Kaien to die, much less die horribly at the hands of a Hollow.

He couldn't accept it, so he could only assume Gilgamesh was talking nonsense.

Seeing the future? Dying horribly at the hands of a Hollow? It was all fake.

He couldn't even bring himself to think about why Gilgamesh would say such a thing.

Gilgamesh didn't answer right away. Instead, he looked at Isshin Shiba with his beautiful, deep wine-red eyes, which seemed capable of seeing through all things.

Gilgamesh said nothing. He simply watched in silence.

Under the light of the Star of Omniscience, Gilgamesh saw the turmoil in Isshin Shiba's heart.

He knew that Isshin hadn't realized it himself, but deep down, he already believed that Gilgamesh could see the future. That was why he was so frantic and flustered.

Otherwise, given Isshin's personality, he would either have angrily demanded an explanation or laughed it off.

Under Gilgamesh's gaze, Isshin Shiba suddenly felt uneasy and afraid for reasons he couldn't explain.

At that moment, Isshin Shiba, captain of the 10th Division of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, began to tremble slightly.

He was afraid—afraid of Gilgamesh, afraid of the unknown future.

The atmosphere grew oppressive and heavy.

Yoruichi Shihouin, who had been about to speak, couldn't help feeling her heart sink. Could Isshin Shiba's future be tragic too?

After all, she was close with Kūkaku Shiba, and Isshin Shiba was Kūkaku Shiba's uncle.

As if confirming Yoruichi Shihouin's guess, Gilgamesh slowly spoke. "I saw you in the future, crying, helpless and grieving because your wife died horribly at the hands of a Hollow."

When Isshin Shiba heard Gilgamesh's words, his pupils contracted sharply. His body trembled uncontrollably, and disbelief showed on his face.

Kaien Shiba had only just recovered. Before he could even wonder why his uncle was there, he heard Gilgamesh's words and was shaken. He blurted out, "Wife? Uncle Isshin doesn't have a wife!"

Before Gilgamesh could say anything, Kaien Shiba realized for himself that Gilgamesh was talking about the future. He froze in place.

Yoruichi Shihouin couldn't hold back any longer. She sensed something was wrong and asked, "Another Hollow? Why will both of their wives die horribly at the hands of Hollows?"

"Could their wives be killed by the same Hollow?"

"What kind of Hollow could be so powerful? Strong enough to kill their wives right under the noses of two Captain-level Soul Reapers, and leave Captain-level Soul Reapers feeling helpless?"

Under normal circumstances, Isshin Shiba and Kaien Shiba would have been astonished to hear a cat speak.

But now, they both turned to look at Gilgamesh.

Yoruichi Shihouin's questions were theirs too.

As they watched, Gilgamesh slowly said, "What I saw was only a fragment, not a detailed future, so I don't know either."

"But their wives weren't killed by the same Hollow."

"Isshin Shiba's wife was a human. She died in the Human World."

Before anyone could react, Gilgamesh looked at Isshin Shiba and Kaien Shiba and asked, "Both your wives died horribly at the hands of Hollows. Perhaps that wasn't a coincidence. Perhaps someone is targeting the Shiba Clan."

Isshin Shiba and Kaien Shiba were stunned, unable to respond for a moment.

They had never considered this possibility. The Shiba Clan had already fallen into decline, so who would want to target it?

Yoruichi Shihouin, however, was slightly taken aback. Then, as if she'd thought of something, her expression suddenly darkened, and she blurted out, "Aizen... Sōsuke!"
