Background

Purple Sword Palace is an upper-tier immortal palace based in White Floating City of the East Sea’s Northern Islands. Its ancestral inheritance traces back to the Nascent Soul cultivator Purple Sword Divine Lord, who left separate lines in the Central Continent’s Spirit Mist Cultivation World and the East Sea. The East Sea line is held by the Zhou Clan, while the Central Continent line descended through the Divine Lord’s personal disciples. 447

The palace has safeguarded its Purple Jade Ancient Slip for tens of thousands of years. The slip contains the Purple Sword Art, including the Great Five Elements Sword Array and the Lesser Three Wonders Sword Array. 447

Its palace lord must be a direct Zhou Clan disciple. Elder positions, however, may be held by Zhou Clan members, relatives by marriage, or outside cultivators who render sufficient merit; Nascent Soul cultivators may also be elevated directly. 448

History

Purple Sword Palace regularly hosts a cultivation gathering for Golden Core and Nascent Soul cultivators connected to it through kinship, marriage, friendship, or master-disciple ties. One such gathering drew several hundred Golden Core cultivators from more than twenty immortal palaces. 367

After observing Ye Qin’s Southern Bright Li Fire Sword and Great Five Elements Sword Array inheritance, the palace invited him to the gathering. Palace Lord Zhou later personally offered him membership, seeing the potential value of a cultivator capable of restoring the palace’s lost sword-array prestige. 367 369

Ye Qin joined the palace before the Heavenly Dao Alliance’s campaign against the Sea Plundering Tribe. Zhou Yi gave him a command token and made him chief captain of a twenty-two-member Purple Sword Palace team, although Ye Qin allowed Zhou Yao to direct the group in battle. 377 378

Following the Langya Secret Realm expedition, Ye Qin and his companions chose to return the Kui Ox Drum to Purple Sword Palace. Palace Lord Zhou confirmed the artifact’s authenticity and accepted it, despite recognizing that Ye Qin had delayed his return while weighing whether the palace could be trusted. 436 446

In exchange for the drum and Ye Qin’s service, Palace Lord Zhou proposed making him an elder so he could legally access the latter half of the Purple Jade Ancient Slip. The four existing elders did not object, and Ye Qin became the Fifth Elder—the palace’s only Golden Core elder at that time. 447

His appointment drew opposition from Zhou Clan disciples and rival Shangtang Palace cultivators because of his early Golden Core cultivation.
