Ji Hongxiu is the red-robed sect master of the Heavenly Pivot Pavilion. She first intervenes when Ling Ningzhi is prepared to destroy her own cultivation rather than allow Ji Hongxiu to harm Chen Mo. Ji Hongxiu stops her disciple, later admitting that Chen Mo was never meant to be killed; the incident was a test of Ling Ningzhi's heart. 142 143

Initially, Ji Hongxiu regards Chen Mo as a possible variable in the upheaval approaching the Nine Provinces. She deliberately tests him against Jiang Qiyuan, then intervenes before he is killed. Her interest is also strategic: she realizes that Chen Mo is the root of Yu Youhan's unstable Dao heart and considers him a means of countering her rival. 143 144

Her conflict with Yu Youhan exposes both her standing and her vulnerability. Although Ji Hongxiu can invoke the Fate-Severing Sword, manipulate time-related effects, and reverse the damage of accelerated aging, Yu Youhan defeats her in their initial clash and leaves her injured. 144 147
