Western Wasteland, outside Wanshou Palace.
It was deep winter. Goose-feather snow drifted across the sky, and snow-laden mountains rose and fell in sprawling ranks, like a thousand silver dragons—a magnificent sight.
The Evergreen Divine Tree soaring into the clouds was draped in a robe of snow as well. Yet through the white gaps, specks of green leaves could vaguely be seen, lending a touch of vibrant life to this pale, pristine world.
Wanshou, too, wore a robe of green. Her long hair was casually gathered into a soft, loose Daoist knot, and her crossed collar hung somewhat slack, revealing the moon-white inner garment beneath and a stretch of skin crystalline and fairer than snow.
At that moment, her bright eyes were vacant, as though she did not know what she was thinking. The air of indolent ease she displayed lent her a stirringly languid charm.
Shui Wuxin, clad in a black Dharma robe, wore a solemn expression and appeared exceptionally grave and earnest.
Wanshou sensed that the transmission formation below was activating. Divine light immediately flashed in her bright eyes, sweeping away her previous languor and abandon.
She glanced at Shui Wuxin beside her, signaling this avatar of the Golden Firmament God King with her eyes. "Gao Xian is here!"
The Golden Firmament God King had long sensed the changes in the transmission formation below. Though he was merely a wisp of Pure Yang divine consciousness lodged deep within Shui Wuxin's soul, he was far more sensitive than Wanshou to changes in divine consciousness and Dharma power.
He could see the formation below slowly revolving. Countless runes linked with the spiritual energy of the earth veins in orderly motion, sorting through the violent spiritual energy of heaven and earth one thread at a time, smoothing it into a stable flow.
