A little surprised, but not much.
Xu Yuan knew that, with his current strength, he obviously couldn't beat the protagonist of the story. He just hadn't expected Su Jinxuan to conclude that he'd still be killed in an instant.
But after thinking it over, he was able to accept it.
If the world's protagonist could really be caught up to in just a month, then the later story wouldn't have had so many aristocratic young masters, all claiming to be invincible among their peers, get slapped in the face by him.
Seeing Xu Yuan's expression, Su Jinxuan asked softly,
"You don't seem surprised?"
Xu Yuan shook his head. He didn't show any defiance, and answered frankly,
"Qin Mo killed two seventh-rank Bone Refining experts from my family. It's perfectly normal for him to kill me instantly in a fight to the death."
Su Jinxuan gazed at Xu Yuan for a long moment, seeming to want to ask him something. In the end, though, she only said quietly,
"When I last parted ways with him, he'd only recently entered the eighth rank."
Xu Yuan finally frowned at that.
"You mean that even then, he could've killed the me of today in an instant?"
After all, it had already been nearly three or four months since Qin Mo and Su Jinxuan parted ways.
"Mm."
"Why?"
Su Jinxuan glanced at the marshy lake nearby, pausing to choose her words. "You wouldn't be able to handle one of his killing moves."
Xu Yuan furrowed his brow.
Did Qin Mo have some kind of ultimate move at the eighth-rank stage?
He recalled the various skills from the old man's storyline, but came up empty.
"What kind of killing move?"
A trace of memory appeared in Su Jinxuan's beautiful eyes as she carefully chose her words.
