Chapter 108: Cloud Demon
Squad 2 barracks.
The captain's private quarters.
A figure leaped in through the window, moving with practiced lightness. It was hard not to suspect he had done this sort of thing many times before.
Su Feng set down the tightly wrapped Soi Fon and asked, "Which direction is the Maggot's Nest?"
Soi Fon stuck both hands out from the haori and clutched her collar, doing her best to prevent another accidental exposure.
Although the man before her had already seen her more than once, being alone with him in such a confined space still made her uncomfortable.
"Northwest."
Seeing Su Feng raise his foot to leave, Soi Fon hurriedly added, "Be careful of Tōzen'e's Zanpakuto. I'll be there shortly."
Su Feng nodded, then vanished through the window in a flash.
Watching his retreating back, Soi Fon tightened the haori around herself again and sighed worriedly.
At this rate, she was afraid she would end up being compared to the Lieutenant.
Had she truly become as useless as Suzumebachi said after leaving Yoruichi Shihoin?
Soi Fon sank into deep self-doubt.

By the time Su Feng arrived, quite a few dangerous criminals had already emerged from within, charging viciously against the defensive line formed by Squad 2 members.
Elsewhere, several figures dressed in black surrounded a strange creature and fought it fiercely.
The creature had no fixed form. It generally resembled a mass of black clouds, and every attack that struck it had no effect whatsoever.
Instead, the black cloud continuously spat corrosive liquid outward. Wherever it hit the walls, huge pits immediately appeared.
It looked as though several people had surrounded the black cloud, but in truth, the black cloud alone had tied down several Shinigami, including Seated Officers.
