To most beings in the Abyss, the ascensions of the Dark-Mist Profound Lord and the Benefactor of All Heavens were two almost entirely unrelated events.
After all, everyone knew that the World Path and the Nightmare Path could not coexist, and a living being could bear only one status above the Seventh Realm.
Zhou Kai had succeeded on both paths because he was special—the Golden Wheel Dharma Aspect of Self-Awakened Enlightenment had strengthened his soul to an unprecedented degree.
Nor did the Grey World itself need to abide by the Abyss's established rules. It was an item created by the Enhancement Panel first, and a new Nightmare World prototype second.
