"Huang Tian!!"
A voice threaded with violet-gold crossed layer upon layer of empty space and rang beside Huang Tian's ear. With a shift of thought, he sent his awareness along the voice and looked into the distance. A scene came clearly into view:
Dusk had fallen. The setting sun spread its light across the sky and earth, and cars passed along the streets of Yuxin City.
At the end of one street stood a young couple. The man sat on a brown bench, looking dejected. The woman planted her left hand on her hip, jabbed a finger at him with her right, and snapped, "Huang Tian, you don't care about me at all, much less love me. I can't feel your love one bit!"
The young man gripped his hair. "Baby, how could I not love you? We've been together for over a year, and every day of that year I—"
"If you love me, why won't you buy me the latest Pineapple 16 Pro?" the woman cut in coldly. "My best friend's boyfriend bought her one, and he did it on his own. She didn't even have to ask.
"What about you? Not only did you fail to buy me one yourself, you refused after I reminded you. How is that love? That saying really is true: someone who cares needs no teaching; someone who doesn't can't be taught! You've never held me in your heart!"
The young man's face twisted. "But the Pineapple 16 is too expensive. It costs over eight thousand. Why don't you use your current phone for a few more months? Once the price drops, I'll buy it for you."
"A few months? It'll be outdated by then. What would be the point?" The woman glared at him. "Either buy it today or don't buy
