Military vehicles sped through the city, and a military helicopter was also en route from the sky.
Hong Fei rushed into the parking lot ahead of everyone else, grabbed a duffel bag from the trunk, and immediately ducked into a restroom.
The manor.
Upon receiving the call, Frank didn't hesitate and directly issued orders. After changing into a camouflage military uniform, he picked up his phone to check the situation.
There was no need to search for news; opening social media was enough. The photos and videos people were posting already gave him a clear picture of what was happening.
Five minutes later, the lawn in the manor's backyard suddenly tilted downwards as a whole section, and then three military vehicles sped out.
Inside the vehicles, over twenty people were all dressed in military attire, their faces completely covered by helmets, face masks, and goggles.
However, Frank hadn't followed Hong Fei's instructions entirely; they had each brought rifles and other equipment.
The vehicles drove into the city without any police stopping them. Instead, the officers watched Frank and his team enter with looks of reverence.
Approaching Harlem, a soldier lying injured on the street pointed at the distant fires and shouted loudly, clearly mistaking them for allies.
But Frank wasn't foolish enough to charge in directly. He directed the vehicles to bypass the core combat zone and head to different areas. His objective was to scout the terrain first, then find a concealed spot to set up the artillery.
The city was filled with tall buildings, and considering the trajectory, there weren't many places he could choose from.
Meanwhile, Hong Fei, now clad in gray and wearing a Joker mask, entered Harlem and climbed to the top of an old building at the end of the street.
On the straight street, a tall, ferocious green figure was destroying everything in its path.
Bullets were useless, so the military resorted to RPGs. Unfortunately, even with a grenade in its hand, the explosion and flames caused Abomination no harm.
It chased fiercely, eventually smashing a military vehicle and the soldiers inside into a pulp with a taxi.
A high-pitched, triumphant roar then echoed in all directions.
Hong Fei concealed himself even deeper.
He definitely couldn't win a direct confrontation.
Not even if he broke through once and was strengthened into his first stage.
If he tried to force it, Abomination could probably crush him to death with a single punch.
Impressive, huh?
Traded my looks and my brain for it!
He pulled at the collar of his communicator and asked, "Frank, are you in position?"
"We're all here and setting up."
"Good. Don't rush now. Await orders, maintain your hidden identity, find an escape route first, and abandon your weapons to blend into the crowd if necessary."
"Alright. I see that monstrous thing. It looks a bit different from the green monster in the news."
"They're brothers." After a moment's thought, Hong Fei added, "Send a few people to trace its path. You might find The Leader. Bring him back to the manor. If he doesn't cooperate, kill him."
"Got it."
After giving his instructions, Frank asked, "I can track your location. I brought a grenade launcher, do you want it?"
Hong Fei paused.
"Yes!"
On the ground, civilians were fleeing in panic. General Ross, flying in the sky, felt regret and anger.
The real Hulk was sitting beside him, so he knew for sure that the creature below wasn't Hulk. Furthermore, he could roughly guess who the person below was.
It was regrettable that the person wasn't cooperating, and it was infuriating that their actions would clearly bring him significant trouble.
At the S.H.I.E.L.D. New York Branch, Maria Hill had already arrived at the scene with her agents.
"No one engages without orders. Our primary objective is rescue."
Such an order was naturally given out of consideration for the military's pride. It was best to let the military handle their own affairs; otherwise, it would be a thankless task.
Moreover, if a fight truly broke out, Hill didn't believe she or her team could be of much help.
Most importantly, that green behemoth had the potential to become an ally in the future, making it even more inconvenient to intervene.
Frank arrived at Hong Fei's location and handed him an unusually thick weapon, along with two ammo drums.
"Two types of rounds: white for damage, yellow for armor penetration. Fifteen rounds of each."
The weapon resembled a normal firearm, but its barrel was much thicker, and the ammo drums were even bulkier.
Hong Fei took it and said, "Nice piece of equipment. Why didn't I notice this before?"
"Your eyes were only on the cannons."
Setting up a tripod, Hong Fei clearly saw the ferocious Abomination through the scope.
Frank didn't linger and returned to his mortar position.
The perspective shifted to the sky. Hong Fei saw the helicopter's rear door open. A man and a woman shared a kiss in the doorway before the man plummeted from high above.
A great battle was about to begin.
Hong Fei: "Everyone, prepare."
Banner smashed straight into the ground. A moment later, a green, massive arm emerged from the earth. Once the Hulk climbed out, his first action was to let out a furious roar at the Abomination in the distance.
Hearing the sound, the Abomination turned its head, a sinister grin on its face.
The two behemoths began to charge at each other. Hong Fei started the countdown.
"Three."
"Two."
"Fire!"
Boom, boom, boom!
Three deafening explosions erupted from different corners of the city, three shells launching almost simultaneously.
Just as the Hulk and the Abomination leaped into the air and collided, the shells arrived instantly, detonating directly above them.
In an instant, the thunderous blasts shattered nearby glass. The high-temperature, high-pressure blast wave propelled flames skyward. The Hulk and the Abomination, located beneath the explosion point, were slammed into the ground by the intense pressure, quickly engulfed by fire and shrapnel.
Hong Fei loaded an armor-piercing round drum, attached the scope, and said, "Prepare the second volley."
Flames billowed, and shrapnel left the surrounding buildings riddled with holes. Fortunately, the people had already evacuated; otherwise, it would have been a human tragedy.
Hearing the cannon fire, Agent Hill and the others, who were engaged in rescue efforts, breathed a slight sigh of relief. To fire cannons within the city, no matter what, would lead to various reprimands afterward, but at this moment, it was undoubtedly the best option. They hadn't expected General Ross to have such courage; he truly lived up to his renowned reputation in the military.
Inside the helicopter, General Ross shouted, "Well done! Find out who did this, and I'll reward them handsomely!"
Roar!!
Two roars overlapped, and two massive figures emerged from the raging flames.
The Hulk was completely unharmed; the flames hadn't even singed his hair. The Abomination, on the other hand, was covered in metal fragments, but its wounds were not deep.
The Abomination clenched its fists and exerted force throughout its body. The fragments on its surface immediately flew back out with a whizz, and its wounds began to heal rapidly.
In the sky, General Ross said to the machine gunner, "Target that monster!"
"Which one?"
"The one with spikes on its back!"
The machine gun barrel rotated, and bullets spewed forth.
"Ross!" the Abomination roared at the sky.
The Hulk charged forward, tackling the Abomination and throwing powerful punches.
Hong Fei: "Fire."
Three more cannon shots rang out. This time, however, the Hulk seemed to have learned his lesson. He stomped hard on the ground and leaped into the distance. Just as the Abomination flipped over, the shells arrived.
The three shells landed one after another, blasting the Abomination directly into a deep crater.
Vehicles exploded, and the earth burned. The Hulk stared intently at the flames.
Ross: "Beautiful!"
Hill: "What a clever gunner."
However, the Abomination wasn't so easily defeated. Soon, a large hand with protruding knuckles gripped the edge of the crater, and the Hulk immediately roared in fury.
Hong Fei aimed while saying, "One last wave, then Frank stays behind. Everyone else withdraw to a safe area and await orders."
Not long after, three more shots were fired in rapid succession. The Abomination, which had just begun to emerge, was blasted back down again.
With a boom, the buildings near the impact points could no longer withstand the onslaught of shrapnel and blast waves, and they collapsed downwards with a crash.
