Barrage

Military vehicles sped through the city, while a military helicopter hurried in through the air.

Hong Fei rushed into a parking lot ahead of everyone else, took a bag from the trunk, then lowered his head and headed straight into the restroom.

At the manor.

After receiving the call, Frank did not hesitate. He immediately gave the order to move out. Only after changing into camouflage fatigues did he pick up his phone and check the situation.

There was no need to search the news. The photos and videos people had posted on social media were already enough for him to understand what was happening.

Five minutes later, the entire lawn in the manor's backyard suddenly tilted downward. Then, three military vehicles sped out.

More than twenty people sat inside, all dressed in military uniforms. Helmets, face coverings, and goggles concealed their faces completely.

However, Frank had clearly not followed all of Hong Fei's instructions. They still carried rifles and other equipment.

The vehicles drove into the city without being stopped or searched by the police. Instead, people watched Frank and the others pass with admiring looks.

Near Harlem, wounded soldiers lying in the streets pointed toward the distant flames and shouted loudly, clearly mistaking them for allies.

But Frank did not stupidly charge straight in. He directed the vehicles around the heart of the battlefield and toward different areas. His goal was to survey the terrain first, then select concealed locations where they could set up the mortars.

Tall buildings crowded the city, and considering the ballistic trajectories, there were not many places for him to choose from.

Elsewhere, Hong Fei changed into gray clothes and put on a Joker mask. After entering Harlem, he climbed to the top of an old building at the end of the road.

On the straight street, a towering, ferocious green figure kept destroying everything in front of him.

Bullets were useless, so the military brought out RPGs. Unfortunately, even when Abomination held a shell in his hand, neither the blast nor the flames harmed him.

He pursued them in savage strides, then used a taxi to smash the military vehicles and soldiers flat.

His shrill, triumphant roar instantly echoed in every direction.

Hong Fei concealed himself even more deeply.

There was no way he could win head-on.

Even after breaking through once and being enhanced to the first stage, he still could not.

If he forced it, Abomination might crush him to death with a single punch.

Was he formidable?

He had traded looks for brains!

Pulling out the communicator at his collar, Hong Fei asked, "Frank, are you in position?"

"We're all here. Setting up now."

"Mm. Don't rush yet. Wait for the order, maintain your Hidden Identity, and map out escape routes first. If necessary, abandon the weapons and blend into the crowd."

"Got it. I can see that monster. He seems a little different from the green monster in the earlier news."

"They're brothers." After thinking for a moment, Hong Fei added, "Send a few people to trace the route he came from. You might find The Leader. Bring him back to the manor. If he refuses to cooperate, kill him."

"Alright."

After making those arrangements, Frank asked again, "I can locate you. I brought a grenade launcher. Want it?"

Hong Fei fell silent for a moment.

"Yes!"

The civilians on the ground fled in every direction, overwhelmed by panic. General Ross, flying overhead, felt only regret and anger.

The real Hulk was sitting beside him, so he knew full well that the one below was not Hulk. He could also roughly guess who was down there.

He regretted that the other party had disobeyed him, and he was furious because this would clearly have an enormous negative impact on him.

At S.H.I.E.L.D.'s New York Branch, Maria Hill had already headed to the scene with her agents.

"Until we receive orders, no one is to engage. Our primary objective is rescue."

Such an order naturally took the military's pride into account. Military affairs were best left for the military to handle, or they could easily put in effort only to gain no appreciation.

Besides, if a fight truly broke out, Hill did not think she or the people around her could be of much help.

Shifting his gaze to the sky, Hong Fei saw the helicopter's rear hatch open. A man and a woman stood at the doorway and kissed goodbye, then the man fell directly from the sky.

The great battle was about to begin.

Hong Fei said, "Everyone, get ready."

Banner crashed stiffly into the ground. Moments later, a huge green arm reached out from beneath the earth. After Hulk climbed out, he immediately roared at Abomination in the distance.

Hearing it, Abomination turned his head and grinned viciously.

The two beasts charged at each other, and Hong Fei began counting down.

"Three."

"Two."

"Fire!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Three deafening blasts erupted from different corners of the city as three shells shot from their barrels in rapid succession.

Just as Hulk and Abomination leaped into the air and collided, the shells arrived in an instant and exploded directly above their heads.

In an instant, the thunderous blast shattered nearby glass. High-temperature, high-pressure shockwaves drove flames into the sky, while Hulk and Abomination beneath the explosion were slammed to the ground by the immense pressure and swallowed by fire and shrapnel in the blink of an eye.

Hong Fei loaded the armor-piercing drum magazine, pressed his eye to the scope, and said, "Prepare the second salvo."

Flames roared as shrapnel riddled the buildings on both sides with holes. Fortunately, everyone had already evacuated, or it would have been a human tragedy.

Hearing the cannon fire, Hill and the agents engaged in rescue efforts relaxed slightly. Anyone who dared fire artillery in a city would face all kinds of questions afterward, but at the moment, this was undoubtedly the best choice. They had not expected General Ross to possess such decisiveness. He truly lived up to his reputation as a renowned military figure.

Inside the helicopter, General Ross shouted, "Beautiful! Find out who did that—I'll reward him handsomely!"

Two roars overlapped as two massive figures burst from the blazing flames.

Hulk was completely uninjured. The flames had not even damaged his hair. Abomination's body, meanwhile, was covered in metal fragments, though none of his wounds were deep.

Abomination clenched his fists and tensed his entire body. The fragments embedded in his skin immediately shot backward with sharp whistles, while his wounds began healing rapidly.

In the sky, General Ross said to the machine gunner, "Aim at that monster!"

"Which one?"

"The one with spikes on his back!"

The machine gun barrels spun, spewing bullets.

"Ross!" Abomination roared at the sky.

Hulk rushed forward, knocked Abomination down, and hammered him with his fists.

Hong Fei said, "Fire."

Three more cannon blasts rang out. This time, Hulk seemed to have gotten smarter. He kicked off the ground and leaped into the distance, while Abomination had just rolled over and risen when the shells arrived.

The three shells struck one after another, their successive explosions blasting Abomination directly into a deep crater.

Vehicles exploded, and the earth burned. Hulk stared at the flames without blinking.

Ross said, "Beautiful!"

Hill said, "What a smart artilleryman."

But Abomination was not so easy to kill. Soon, a large hand with protruding knuckles gripped the edge of the crater, and Hulk immediately roared.

While aiming, Hong Fei said, "One last salvo. Then Frank stays behind while everyone else withdraws to a safe area and waits for orders."

Before long, another three shells fired in rapid succession, blasting Abomination back down just as he emerged.

With a rumble, the buildings near the bombardment site could no longer withstand the shrapnel and shockwaves, collapsing with a crashing roar.
