"An abnormal signal was detected above your head. You've been spotted."

Frank's warning came through the earpiece. As Hong Fei ran, he said, "A drone. Ignore it for now. Where are you?"

"On the street to your left."

Hong Fei leaped into the air in great strides and took the chance to look back. A black motorcycle was weaving rapidly through traffic. Most of the police were converging on Harlem right now, so aside from startled drivers repeatedly honking to vent their frustration, no police cars were bothering to care whether he was speeding.

That was bad. He absolutely must not learn from him.

His body swept through the air dozens of meters above the street. Hong Fei said, "I'll take out the drone before leaving the city. It's too dark outside. Keep monitoring the surrounding signals and stay hidden."

"Got it. But how exactly do you plan to deal with that monster?"

"Don't worry, it's almost done for. Have Number One and the others go back first. There'll be plenty of aerial surveillance next, and they're too conspicuous."

The wounds on Abomination's body had healed quite a bit, but his high-speed movement inevitably tore open the freshly healed wounds again. Blood sprayed out with a hiss, making for a terrifying sight. More serious, of course, were his eye sockets. The green blood constantly flowing from them had nearly stained half his body.

Reaching the last building at the city's edge, about fifteen meters above the ground, Hong Fei took a deep breath, fixed his gaze on the large tree across from him, then repeated the same old trick.

Draw the gun, rise into the air, turn, aim, fire.

All in one smooth motion.

Boom!

The drone instantly exploded in a brilliant burst of flame.

The image suddenly vanished. Hill handed the tablet back, then got into the car and said, "Send out more drones. Increase their flight altitude. Have the fighter jets roll out and prepare."

Slipping the grenade launcher behind his back, Hong Fei turned and grabbed the tree trunk. The powerful inertia forced his fingers downward at an angle. Just as they were nearly about to snap, Hong Fei released his grip and used the momentum to launch himself forward again.

The forest shook, but Hong Fei only grew faster.

After leaving the city, Frank switched off his lights, pulled down the night-vision goggles on his helmet, twisted the throttle, and sped away.

A moment later, a red dot appeared on the display attached to Frank's arm, while a rumbling roar sounded from the sky behind him.

He knew that sound all too well.

Slowing down, turning on his headlights to disguise himself as an ordinary vehicle, Frank shouted, "Fighter jet incoming! Take cover!"

Hong Fei naturally heard the unusual sound as well. He saw Abomination turn and leap into the river ahead, so he plunged in after him.

The fighter jet arrived at high speed and swept low overhead. Even through the river water, the rumble of its engine could be heard clearly.

In the river, Abomination dived swiftly, and Hong Fei followed closely behind.

The fighter jet began circling back and forth overhead.

For a fighter jet, the few seconds it took to fly in one direction were enough for Abomination and Hong Fei to travel a long way.

So even though the fighter jet had not seen where Abomination and Hong Fei went, as long as it lingered nearby, neither of them dared surface.

Hong Fei grumbled inwardly, What a shameless way to fight!

Fighter jets were simply too fast. Even with a lock-on cheat, grenade rounds propelled by gunpowder probably could not catch up.

Besides, if he shot down this fighter jet now, more would immediately take to the air. By then, neither Hong Fei nor Frank would be able to escape.

After diving more than thirty meters down, Abomination paddled his broad palms and surged forward. The blood flowing from his body dyed the water behind him a different color, so Hong Fei did not dare follow too closely and trailed far behind to one side.

On the ground, Frank looked at the dense cluster of red dots on the display on his arm. "More drones are coming. At least twenty."

Let them come. Whatever.

Unable to speak, Hong Fei could only tap the microphone lightly in response.

For now, he could only hope that Abomination was smart enough.

Swimming downstream, the two covered a thousand meters in the blink of an eye. Abomination slowly rose upward. Hearing the fighter jet's sound fade into the distance, he immediately surfaced and took a deep breath.

After diving again, he frantically swam onward.

Hong Fei copied him and followed behind. The sound of fighter jets circling above the river grew more distant. Then suddenly, two fighter jets flew overhead one after the other, but neither discovered the targets hiding dozens of meters beneath the river.

The twenty-odd drones traveling with them also spread out like bait, rising and falling as though they were teasing their prey while luring it in.

Hong Fei paid them no mind.

They continued stealthily onward, repeatedly surfacing for air, for more than half an hour. At last, the sound of fighter jets in the sky gradually disappeared.

Yet Abomination did not rush ashore. He kept swimming downstream, then suddenly turned right into a tributary.

Another hour passed. Only when there were no longer any signs of humanity along either riverbank, with nothing but dense forest surrounding them, did he finally leave the water.

After coming ashore, Abomination collapsed onto the ground. The bony armor over his chest rose and fell rapidly, his breathing was extraordinarily heavy, and blood still seeped from his wounds.

Even a monster as massive as him could not endure such prolonged blood loss.

Abomination could feel his strength draining away rapidly, while his mind grew increasingly hazy.

Hong Fei came ashore four hundred meters behind him, panting just as heavily. He felt as though his whole body was about to fall apart. But after looking at Abomination in the distance, he lightly bit his tongue to rouse himself, leaned behind a large tree, and continued watching him.

Abomination's choice had been fairly smart.

Leaping into the river, diving deep, and swimming hard was enough to evade most search tools. Besides, finding someone underwater was nowhere near as easy as it sounded. The military and S.H.I.E.L.D. had to choose between searching the land and the river first before they even had a chance to conduct an underwater search.

It was late at night, and visibility was poor. They had been in the river for nearly two hours, and even Hong Fei himself had no idea how far they had swum. If they wanted to conduct an encirclement search, the possible search area would be broad enough to make them give up.

After slipping into a tributary, they were now covered by the jungle overhead. Even satellites might not be able to find them.

To truly catch up to them, the military and S.H.I.E.L.D. had far more choices to make than Abomination and Hong Fei did.

Of course, if Abomination's choice had been wrong, Hong Fei would have abandoned this target without hesitation, no matter how much it pained him, and turned elsewhere.

For now, they were temporarily safe.

Several minutes later, Abomination rolled over and got to his feet. He seemed to mutter something under his breath before trudging into the forest with heavy steps.

Hong Fei sighed silently. He waited half a minute before getting up and following.

Activating Shinigami Eye, he clearly saw the footprints and Qi in the forest pointing out the direction Abomination had gone.

After following him for a while, Hong Fei suddenly stopped.

Not far ahead, Abomination's huge, savage body lay sprawled on the ground without moving.

Hong Fei stood where he was and watched for a long time, but there was still no response.

Dead?

Hong Fei did not believe it. Besides, if Abomination had really died, someone of his status should have dropped at least one Skill Card.

After a while longer, Hong Fei was mostly sure that Abomination had passed out. Only then did he raise the grenade launcher and cautiously approach.

Most of the bone spines on Abomination's back had broken off, leaving it covered in savage wounds. Hong Fei kicked him over, revealing his tightly shut eyes and limp, powerless limbs. The terrible wound over his left eye had begun to scab over completely, while most of the green had faded from his strange face, leaving it deathly pale.

Although Abomination's wounds were healing, the process was extremely slow. His chest barely rose once in a long while.

Hong Fei immediately let out a breath of relief and dropped onto the ground.

His earpiece had taken in too much water and was no longer working, so Hong Fei could only wait for Frank to find him using the waterproof tracker.

Just then, a streak of white light shot toward him from the horizon.

He instinctively activated Shinigami Eye, only to discover that it was a luminous white card flying toward him.

He deactivated Shinigami Eye, and the card flew straight to him.

The image on the front of the card was neither a person nor a monster, but a tank.

Did I just fight a tank? Hong Fei frowned.

He turned it over.

Active Skill Card: M1A2 SEP (Green) "You may expend a large amount of energy to obtain a brand-new M1A2SEP tank. Your energy is its ammunition."

Holy shit!

Hong Fei nearly cried out.

His eyes gleamed as he stared at this brand-new equipment card. If the timing had not been so inappropriate, he would have wanted to see exactly what this thing could do immediately.

What kind of skill was this?

This could actually count as a skill?
