Hong Fei held a sleek black whip in his hand, wearing an expression of exasperation, though a hint of amusement lingered in his eyes.

They had agreed on one beating every three days, yet Samuel had already lost patience on the second day.

That was fine too. It saved Hong Fei from having to come up with an excuse tomorrow.

Before Hong Fei, Samuel's ankles were tied to a rope hanging from the ceiling, his long, oversized head nearly touching the floor. A strip of cloth was stuffed into his mouth. He stared at the whip in Hong Fei's hand, making muffled whimpering sounds nonstop.

Hong Fei flicked his arm, and the whip snapped through the air like a nimble serpent. As its tip fully unfurled, a thunderous crack suddenly rang out.

At the sound, Samuel squeezed his eyes shut and let out a muffled scream.

"Oh, shut up. I haven't even hit you yet!"

Samuel whimpered softly and opened his eyes. A faint glow flickered in them, and his gaze was full of pleading.

Unfortunately, he was simply too ugly. Rather than softening Hong Fei's heart, that expression gave him chills.

With a flick of his wrist, the whip lashed out. The black shadow tore through the air and instantly wrapped around Samuel, producing a series of sharp cracks.

An even more miserable howl was trapped beneath the gag. Samuel's eyes bulged, and veins stood out across his forehead.

At that very moment, Hong Fei suddenly saw a pale blue Skill Card slowly materialize before him.
