Background

Tang San is described as a Tang Sect genius who lived two lives. A life simulation sent by Lin Jiang reveals that he possesses Twin Martial Souls—Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer—and predicts a path in which Solitary Bamboo rings lead him toward godhood 1 2.

Taking the prediction seriously, Tang San abandons the Mandala Snake ring available in the Soul Hunting Forest and seeks out a Ten-Year Solitary Bamboo himself. Its ring grants Pole Vault, establishing the bamboo-based skill path he pursues throughout his early cultivation 2.

His upbringing is later reframed by Ah Yin’s simulation: Tang Hao allegedly raised both Ah Yin and Tang San with the intention of turning Ah Yin into Tang San’s future soul ring. In that projected future, Tang San calls Ah Yin a ring prepared for him by his father and helps force her sacrifice 50.

Personality

Tang San is intensely ambitious and attaches great importance to the simulator’s prediction that he can become a god. He repeatedly pursues additional Solitary Bamboo rings—even after their skills develop in unexpected directions—and views Sea God Island as a route to strength sufficient to challenge Lin Jiang 8 23 120 121.

He reacts badly to perceived humiliation or obstruction. He strikes Yu Xiaogang after receiving Pole Dance and Lone Bamboo Basketball, attempts to assassinate Lin Jiang with Yama’s Sticker, and later directs Tang Hao to kill Lin Jiang 23 25 77 85.

Despite this volatility, Tang San can adapt his tactics when presented with unconventional applications for his abilities. He accepts Yu Xiaogang’s reasoning that Stilts, Pole Vault, and Throw can be chained into a multi-stage aerial movement sequence 75.

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass—later identified as the Blue Silver Emperor—and the Clear Sky Hammer. He can use the former for control and the latter for direct assault 11 75.

  • Blue Silver Emperor — Holds Pole Vault, Pole Dance, and Solitary Bamboo Stilts among its documented skills 2 23 75.
  • Clear Sky Hammer — Holds a separate Pole Vault, Lone Bamboo Basketball, and Solitary Bamboo Throw 24 25 75.
  • His twin-soul status was concealed from Xiao Wu until the simulation revealed it 11.

Solitary Bamboo Techniques

Tang San’s early soul-ring configuration centers on Solitary Bamboo spirit beasts.

  • Pole Vault — Summons a bamboo pole used to launch himself through the air; his first documented use reaches roughly ten meters 2.
  • Solitary Bamboo Pole Dance — Forces Tang San into an involuntary dance-like performance; Yu Xiaogang characterizes it as a distracting control skill 23.
  • Solitary Bamboo Stilts — Creates two bamboo stilts attached to his lower legs, raising his position and enabling additional propulsion 75.
  • Solitary Bamboo Throw — Produces a sharpened bamboo pole that can be thrown as a projectile; Tang San and Yu Xiaogang propose using its impact for additional aerial leverage 75.
  • Lone Bamboo Basketball — Creates a resilient bamboo basketball that rebounds to Tang San after striking a target, allowing repeated attacks 25.

Hidden Weapons and Tang Sect Techniques

Tang San employs concealed weapons and techniques from his previous life.

  • Yama’s Sticker — A poisoned black projectile designed to shatter inside a target and spread lethal poison; Tang San uses it against Lin Jiang, who catches and discards it 77.
  • Mysterious Jade Hand — Used to handle Yama’s Sticker while resisting its poison 77.
  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — Used to evade Grandmaster and navigate the Soul Hunting Forest 2.

Spirit Bone Skill

Tang San possesses the Two-and-a-Half-Year Chicken Claw Left Leg Bone skill, Just Because You Are Too Beautiful.

  • He combines it with Lone Bamboo Basketball as an “ultimate technique” 25.
  • During the Moonlight Pavilion confrontation, activating it makes him perform the Iron Mountain Lean and a dribbling motion while attempting to restrain Lin Jiang 108.

Sea God Power

After enduring Poseidon’s forced divine-power transfer, Tang San inherits the Sea God position and the Sea God Trident 140 145.

  • Golden Thirteen Halberd Strikes, Third Form: Never to Return — Throws the Sea God Trident as a destructive blue meteor 148.
  • The inheritance leaves him with an involuntary flatulence side effect 145 147.
  • In his later fur-seal/sea-dog form, he cannot properly use divine skills because he lacks hands 152.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Sea God Trident — Divine artifact inherited with the Sea God position; cracked by Lin Jiang’s Dragon Emperor Extinction Fist 145 149.
  • Yama’s Sticker — Poisonous hidden weapon carried in his Hidden Weapon Pouch 77.
  • Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges — Blue-gray storage Soul Tool belt with twenty-four jade-like buttons; stolen from him by pirates 133 134.
  • Bamboo poles and constructs — Manifested through his Solitary Bamboo soul skills for movement, attacks, and thrown projectiles 2 75.

Relationships

  • Tang Hao — Father. Tang Hao supports Tang San’s pursuit of strength and accompanies him toward Sea God Island, but their relationship is strained by Tang Hao’s treatment of Ah Yin and by Tang Hao accidentally striking Tang San with the Clear Sky Hammer 81 108 121.
  • Ah Yin — Mother and a transformed Blue Silver Emperor. Tang San is shocked by her return and by her recognition of Lin Jiang as her master; Ah Yin’s simulation portrays Tang San as complicit in taking her spirit ring 50 81.
  • Yu Xiaogang — Teacher and mentor. Yu Xiaogang cultivates Solitary Bamboo for Tang San and guides his skill experimentation, but the two repeatedly clash over the resulting abilities and Tang San’s disrespect 23 25 73 75.
  • Xiao Wu — Former classmate and intended target of Tang San and Tang Hao’s plan to obtain a hundred-thousand-year spirit ring and soul bone. Tang San later intends to reclaim her after becoming the Sea God 10 145.
  • Lin Jiang — Primary rival and enemy. Tang San repeatedly attempts to kill him, blames him for his misfortunes, and seeks revenge after inheriting the Sea God position 77 85 145 149.
  • Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, and Oscar — Shrek companions who reunite with Tang San on Sea God Island and pledge support for his revenge; all are later captured and transformed alongside him 145 149.
  • Poseidon — Predecessor Sea God. He forcibly transfers divine power to Tang San after a brutal “tempering” process, making Tang San his successor 139 140 145.
  • Bo Saixi — Initially recognizes Tang San as her lord after his inheritance, but later sides with Lin Jiang during their confrontation 145 148.
