Lin Jiang retains memories connected to Blue Star and his life before transmigrating to Douluo Continent. After acquiring the Simulator, he begins exploiting its one-hundredfold return mechanism, which evolves his Martial Soul and rapidly strengthens his body, cultivation, and spirit bones 2 42.

He becomes close to Dugu Yan and earns Dugu Bo's trust by identifying remedies for the poison affecting the Dugu family. At the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well, he helps Dugu Bo detoxify through the Earth Dragon Golden Melon and uses the site as a foundation for his own cultivation 8 13.
