Background

Dai Mubai is the Third Prince of the Star Luo Empire and was betrothed to Zhu Zhuqing. His elder brother, Dai Weisi, is the empire's First Prince. 55 131

By the time Ning Rongrong arrives at Shrek Academy, Dai is a blond fifteen-to-sixteen-year-old student with three spirit rings—two yellow and one purple. He assists in intimidating a rejected applicant at the academy entrance by releasing his soul pressure. 32

Personality

Dai is arrogant, possessive, and quick to resort to violence when rejected or insulted. He regards Zhu Zhuqing as someone inherently owed to him through their engagement, reacts with rage when she dismisses him, and attempts to force her into submission through his superior cultivation. 55 56 57

He repeatedly objectifies women, first leering at Ning Rongrong, Xiao Wu, and Zhu Zhuqing during Shrek's entrance testing, then declaring that Shrek's female students should not “fall into the mouths of others” because they belong to the Shrek boys. 30 32

Following his defeat and crippling, Dai becomes consumed by resentment toward Lin Jiang and jealousy toward Zhu Zhuqing. Despite his treatment of his companions, he remains aligned with Tang San, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun until their eventual separation. 70 76 118

Shrek Academy Entrance

Dai is introduced as one of Shrek Academy's senior students. He displays his three-ring cultivation to intimidate a family demanding a refund, then openly leers at Ning Rongrong, Xiao Wu, and Zhu Zhuqing during their entrance testing. 32

In Ning Rongrong's simulation, Dai joins Tang San, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun in driving away Tailong's group, but immediately asserts possessive claims over Zhu Zhuqing and the other girls. 30

Conflict with Zhu Zhuqing

After arguing with Zhu Zhuqing, Dai raises his hand to strike her. Zhu Zhuqing's Life Simulator reveals that Tang San plans to leave them alone, enabling Dai's intended assault. 55 56

Dai corners Zhu Zhuqing in an alley, activates White Tiger Possession, injures her, and attempts to force her into submission. Lin Jiang arrives, blocks Dai's White Tiger Intense Light Wave without moving, and castrates him with the Golden Dragon Carving Knife. Zhu Zhuqing refuses to return to Shrek and leaves with Lin Jiang. 57 58

Escalation at Shrek

After returning to Shrek injured, Dai threatens Ning Rongrong. Wu Zhong intervenes on behalf of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and further injures him. 59 60

Dai later joins Tang San, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun in confronting Lin Jiang at Shrek Academy. The group is overwhelmed by Lin Jiang's five-ring display and Elemental Control; Dai's White Tiger is suppressed and he is struck by Ma Hongjun's redirected Phoenix Fire Line. 76 77 78

When Zhu Zhuqing arrives and embraces Lin Jiang in front of him, Dai reacts with extreme rage and jealousy. 79

Fall from Status

After Shrek's downfall, Dai, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun crawl from a trash heap and decide to separate. Dai chooses to return to the Star Luo Empire. 118

He seeks imperial support for revenge against Lin Jiang but is mocked by Dai Weisi. The Star Luo Emperor subsequently strips Dai of his title and reduces him to a commoner because of the disgrace surrounding his crippling. 131 132

Former nobles and commoners humiliate him in the streets, while his estate and possessions are confiscated. He survives by scavenging discarded food and sleeping in ruined shelters. 132

Sea God Island

Dai reunites with Tang San, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun on Sea God Island after Tang San inherits the Sea God's power. 145

During Lin Jiang's attack on Sea God Hall, Dai is captured alongside Tang San, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun. When Tang San attempts to portray himself as separate from the others, Dai calls him a hypocrite. Lin Jiang then transforms all four into sea dogs. 149
