Epilogue

First off, the book isn't finished yet, nor have I stopped writing. I just wanted to share some updates before the conclusion.

Thank you to everyone who has read this far. My writing has been severely lacking in the later stages, especially these past few days.

This has nothing to do with sales. When Arceus finished, it was over three million characters with an average readership of 11,000, and it had been steadily rising.

This book isn't Arceus, but it's close to 8,000 average readership, so the performance isn't bad.

It's not that I don't want to write during this later period, or that I'm slacking off. I genuinely can't write it; no matter how I try, it feels wrong.

When I initially planned this book, I didn't intend for it to be as long as Arceus. Halfway through, I realized the premise wasn't as easy to write as I thought, and it's much more difficult than anticipated.

The inclusion of the middleman and scientist roles severely limited the scope of what could be written. Many plotlines were smoothed over directly. Although there's an overall goal, the progression of the story is very flat, and I haven't been able to write engaging daily life scenes...

I've used many of the same tropes from my last book. Writing them again would be like putting new wine in old bottles, leading to severe repetition.

And Oda didn't really stab me; he punched me with a knife (Welcome Victor, the Arcane Pioneer, let us mourn for Valoran, a continent where technology and magic are increasingly absurd, and there are still people who fight by headbutting with their bellies).

The quality of the ending is indeed not good... I'll take a hit for that first... But lately, writing has been giving me a headache; sometimes I'm just forcing it... I'll do my best to wrap it up properly...

Many people don't read author's notes. I mentioned before that it would be finished before the New Year, and that's still the case.

Valoran was originally intended as an extra, not meant for a long run. The situation is the same now. That's all for now...
