The Li Family courtyard was filled with five or six servants.
Li Jinrong stood beneath the veranda, a folding fan in hand.
"Don't stuff that bundle so tightly. We'll need to take things out when we get there—who's responsible if they get creased?"
"Have the tea set been packed? My blue-and-white porcelain set, not this one. Go switch it!"
"And bring my sable cloak too. It's colder over there than in Jin City."
"..."
"Tell me, Master Li, are you going on a long journey or moving house?"
Watching the scene, Chen Mo couldn't help laughing.
Hearing him, Fatty Li turned around, snapped his folding fan shut, and beckoned Chen Mo over. "Perfect timing. Come in, come in. Don't stand at the gate like a door god."
Chen Mo entered the courtyard, stepped around several rattan trunks spread open on the ground, and walked beneath the veranda.
A servant hurriedly brought over a chair.
Li Jinrong opened his fan again and gave it two unhurried waves. "This is called being prepared for anything. When you're away from home, you only feel at ease when you've brought everything you need."
"You think everyone's like you, daring to run around outside bare-chested?"
Chen Mo lowered his gaze at the Inspection Bureau uniform he was wearing and did not argue.
Li Jinrong sat down in the chair beside him, picked up the tea a servant had just brewed, and took a sip. "I've prepared your luggage too."
Chen Mo froze. "Mine?"
"Of course. You're leaving with me—don't tell me you plan to wear that?"
Setting down his teacup, Li Jinrong counted on his fingers. "Changes of clothes, washing supplies, all of it needs to be prepared. Ganzhou is colder than Jin City. Don't end up shivering like a quail."
"Fine." Chen Mo nodded.
