Chen Mo opened his eyes, his spiritual sense beginning to withdraw from the Moon-Hidden Realm.
The gray mist receded like a tide, and the dim yellow light came back into view.
He raised a hand, removed his mask and stored it away in his storage space, then rose and walked to the window.
Tonight's Red Moon was exceptionally bright, hanging halfway up the sky in the southeast. There were no clouds around it; it hung there all alone, staining the entire night sky with a faint crimson hue.
After gazing up at it for a while, he slowly sat cross-legged before the window and closed his eyes, letting his consciousness sink into his sea of consciousness.
Within the sea of consciousness was a vast, empty void, like the chaos of heaven and earth when they had first begun.
At the center of that chaos floated a yin soul in the shape of a paper person.
It had now condensed to about a foot in height, snow-white from head to toe, its texture fine and smooth as jade.
The paper person's outline was clear and distinct, with a head and body, limbs and torso. Even the contours of its features could vaguely be seen. Though its brows, eyes, mouth, and nose had yet to be fully drawn, the sense that it was on the verge of taking shape was already impossible to ignore.
Paper Person Dharma Form.
Chen Mo's consciousness watched the paper person, and an indescribable feeling of satisfaction welled up within him.
After months of painstaking cultivation, he had gone from sketching a vague shadow within his spiritual sense to this paper person that was nearly corporeal. Every step had been hard-won.
He remembered that the first time, he had not even been able to outline the paper person.
