The Power of the Star God

That afternoon, while the soldiers were out scavenging for metal and electronic components, Qin Mo began expanding the entire structure.

This was the second time Grey had witnessed Qin Mo perform his art of creation, and he was far more stunned than the first.

Under Qin Mo's control, the hard metal floor within a hundred-meter square area turned soft, and guided by his telekinesis, it was molded into the desired shapes or fused onto the building.

Once a section of the floor had been hollowed into a deep pit, Qin Mo began repeating the process on another patch of ground.

The entire building was gradually expanded to five stories, the walls thickened by thirty centimeters, and metal rods floated in the air, weaving through the metal to form firing ports.

These firing ports were fixed in orientation, but they ensured that once heavy weapons were mounted, they would be aimed directly at any attacking rebels.

There were firing ports facing straight ahead, as well as those angled to the sides.

Once the expansion was complete, the metal rods were extended and elongated, stitching into the walls like needle and thread through tofu to serve as reinforcement.

The special alloy used for the floors of the Underhive was useless for making weapons because of its poor plasticity, but it was the perfect material for walls.

Klein watched the building transform into a fortress and felt deeply puzzled.

The fortress didn't even have a door now; how was one supposed to get in or out?

Then, Qin Mo provided the answer through action.

The entrance was no longer a door on the ground level, but a semi-circular underground passage. Anyone wishing to enter the building had to slide into the external opening and then climb up a set of stairs.

Upon entering the interior, one had to navigate a maze-like, narrow corridor, with thick walls riddled with firing ports on both sides.

Klein felt that this entrance design was truly vicious for any attacker.

The walls were impenetrable, the curved entrance was too tight for tanks to navigate, and even if the enemy infantry managed to crawl into the building under heavy fire, they would be forced into a cramped cluster within the corridor, only to be slaughtered by the heavy weapons behind the walls.

Conversely, from the defender's perspective, it was an angelic design.

"Give me a flamer and a Melta Cannon, and I could hold this position for a year against an enemy ten times our size." Klein praised the fortress before asking what he considered a crucial question: "But we need supplies. How are we supposed to transport supplies into the fortress?"

"Like this." Qin Mo raised his hand, and the wall opened instantly like a door.

"I see." Klein raised an eyebrow and nodded.

Having finished the surface expansion, Qin Mo turned his attention to the underground section.

To prevent the subterranean areas from being infiltrated by Gene Stealers, Qin Mo simply excavated individual voids in the building's core that could only be accessed from the surface.

"This is truly a power far beyond that of mortals," Klein remarked. "Psychic ability may be terrifying, but it is certainly useful."

"I am not a psyker," Qin Mo said. He had previously assumed he was, never giving much thought to his hallucinations and dreams.

But now, all signs indicated that he was definitely not a psyker; otherwise, the Psychic Suppressor Collar and the Brain Grub Familiar would have had some effect on him.

As for the source of this power...

Qin Mo recalled the hallucinations he experienced after being struck by artillery shells and concluded that it was likely a Star God.

A Star God.

Star Gods were born long before any race in the galaxy, parasitizing stars to consume their energy.

These Star Gods were deities of the material world, possessing power that spanned time and dimensions. They could create black holes, conjure planets out of thin air, and twisting the laws of physics was effortless for them.

The power of a Star God shared some similarities with the power of the Warp, such as manifesting fire from nothing, causing anomalous phenomena in the material universe, or manipulating objects with one's mind.

Qin Mo was now eighty percent certain that his power originated from a Star God, though he did not know which one, or why he possessed it.

"I am going to manufacture weapons. When the soldiers return, have them bring everything they found to me." Qin Mo did not want to explain further and turned to leave.

Although he could command the 47th Infantry Regiment at will, Qin Mo did not intend to take too many people to search for other positions; his plan remained to arm Grey and his team as much as possible.

After all, once a civilian building was expanded into a fortress, it would require a larger garrison.

In Qin Mo's vision, the six-man team would move covertly to various positions at high speed, so he needed equipment that allowed for rapid mobility.

Considering the need for stealth, this equipment should not be a vehicle, but rather something miniaturized that could be integrated into their Power Armor.

The answer was obvious.

A Jump Pack.

The Gravity Shield would be integrated into the Jump Pack, which would simultaneously possess the functions of generating a Gravity Shield, sustaining short-duration flight for long-distance leaps, and providing storage.

Weapons should also be integrated into the Power Armor and must primarily be energy-based, as kinetic weapons could not penetrate a Gravity Shield.

He would consider kinetic weapons once he had time to improve the Gravity Shield later.

Taking everything into account, the Power Armor integrated with a Jump Pack, Gravity Shield, and energy weapons should be designed to prioritize defense against energy-based weaponry.

The energy consumption of various weapons and equipment was a major issue.

Qin Mo believed he should design a high-capacity battery that could be recharged via thermal energy. This way, if energy ran low, everyone could simply gather together, and he would twist the laws of physics in their immediate vicinity to prevent fire from scorching metal or human flesh, then recharge them directly by spraying them with flames.

Beyond individual gear, Qin Mo also planned to design drones. These drones would be categorized by function: some could carry kinetic weapons or medical supplies, others would be strictly for reconnaissance, and some could serve as mobile cover.

Finally, there were the heavy weapons for the fortress, which required no brainpower—merely the creation of Stubbers, flamers, or Melta Cannons.

As long as Qin Mo recalled the appearance of these heavy weapons in his mind, he could grasp their principles and structures, allowing him to replicate them one-to-one.

None of these creations were anywhere near perfect, but it was precisely for that reason that they were easy for Qin Mo to design and manufacture.

Back when he still suspected he was a psyker, Qin Mo hadn't dared to be so reckless in mass-producing whatever he wanted, but now that he was certain he wasn't one, he had no such reservations.

As for what would happen if these Imperial-unauthorized technological creations were discovered after he left the underhive... he would worry about that once he managed to survive and get out.

And if these things were affected by psychic energy...

"Damn it, that's a lethal problem." Qin Mo suddenly realized that among the Gene Stealers, there were not only individuals who could use psychic powers, but those individuals' psychic abilities were far from weak.

Researching anti-psychic technology was imperative.

Qin Mo intended to first use the principles of the Psychic Suppressor Collar to build a psychic suppressor.
