Moving in a way no meteor possibly could, the meteor traced an arc through the void, charged in the opposite direction, and pierced through all three World Engines again.

The World Engines began to collapse.

The laughter of Burner, transformed into a meteor, rang across the universe. Every time he passed through a World Engine, he left far more than a mere puncture wound in these colossal Necron creations.

Matter ruptured around the path he left behind, and the structures of the World Engines burned.

Every atom comprising those immense War Machines glowed with flames burning from within.

But Burner's happy time did not last long. Saranoga transformed into a celestial body whose mass exceeded the combined mass of ten stars, using gravity to tear apart the World Engines, warships, and all manner of Necron constructs throughout the star system.

The instant it appeared and transformed into a celestial body, even space within a range of ten light-years began to "sink."

Burner stopped, no longer looking like a meteor. He dropped down in disappointment and asked, "Why were the Flayed Ones wiped out by the Menak Dynasty? They weren't that powerful. Compared to the War in Heaven, they were even weaker."
