"Should we allow these avengers to retaliate against the Menak Dynasty? The Chronicler stood ready to record this historic moment. It looked forward to every possible choice that might follow, and the effects those choices would have on the histories of multiple species."

As the Chronicler prepared to begin recording, Qin Mo gave it some thought.

At his will, the flow of all time began to slow.

To everyone else, his exchange with the other C'tan was no more than a momentary pause, hesitation, or daze.

"We should indulge these ants in taking revenge on another group of ants." Saranoga flickered to Qin Mo's side and bent close beside his right shoulder to offer counsel. "There is nothing more entertaining than using hatred to provoke a civil war within a species."

"Start the war. Whether it's Menak or someone else, we have to destroy something to make this journey complete." Burner gave an entirely unsurprising suggestion.

As for the Void Dragon, it offered no advice, but it clearly shared Burner and Saranoga's thoughts.

The Menak Dynasty had once truly slain gods. The weapon they used had to be a superweapon beyond the C'tan's controllable systems. Obtaining and studying such a weapon was the Void Dragon's aim.

The Chronicler was recording this moment. It offered no advice; it merely watched and recorded in silence, never interfering in any way.

And Mimic.

This C'tan had accompanied Qin Mo from when his individual strength was weak to when it became formidable, from when his personal status was insignificant to when he became pivotal. Its advice was what Qin Mo would truly consider.

"I think we should restrain the Kasa Dynasty's fury for revenge," Mimic said. "Otherwise, we may become embroiled in this species' internal conflicts. Your Regent friend is planning a massive counterattack.
