The Pharaohs and Overlords loyal to Szarekh stood behind the Silent King.
Opposite them stood Imotekh the Storm King and his followers.
Though this meeting appeared to be a joint discussion, their opposing positions alone revealed the conflict between them. The meeting itself had been convened at the forefront of the standoff between Szarekh and Imotekh.
When the meeting began, the Grand Judiciar serving Szarekh had already announced everything that had happened thus far and warned the dynasties that war was inevitable.
According to procedure and tradition, the Grand Judiciar was to select, in accordance with Szarekh's wishes, a temporary supreme military commander to lead the entire species to victory in the coming war.
As everyone wondered who would be chosen, the Grand Judiciar selected the Pharaoh of the Kallon Dynasty in Szarekh's name.
"I'm to lead the war?" Pharaoh Koren raised a hand and pointed at himself, then looked around before his gaze settled on his younger brother, the dynasty's Overlord. "Honored Silent King, is this your will?"
Though he had heard the Grand Judiciar name him, Pharaoh Koren still could not believe it.
His dynasty was a fringe dynasty that had been dragged into standing with Szarekh during the confrontation between Imotekh and Szarekh.
Although Overlord Koren, the
