After the Greenskins surged over the Necrophage fleet like a torrent for a while, the Eldar would join the battle.
As the warships carrying Eldar combatants headed in the opposite direction from the Transport Ships carrying civilians, an Old One named Zen appeared inside the Eldar flagship the next instant.
The Old One reached out toward the stars beyond.
Thirty stars were plucked from the stellar curtain. They were as tiny as points of light seen from an immense distance by mortal flesh-and-blood eyes, even in Zen's hand.
Zen looked toward the Eldar Prophet beside him.
The Prophet bowed and replied through Psychic Power, "The ritual has been prepared."
Zen nodded, extended a claw, and lightly patted the Prophet's shoulder before releasing all the stars in his hand.
The thirty stars returned to their original size and arranged themselves in a bizarre formation.
It was an astrological configuration, a ritual.
The configuration released signal-like energy. An Eldar God descended into the void in flashing radiance, then bowed to the Old One.
Zen withdrew his hand and sat cross-legged without closing his eyes, merely gazing into the void beyond the viewport.
Once the Necrophage fleet arrived, he would have to face the Burner alongside that Eldar God.
It would be difficult.
Zen could not summon more of his kin or more Eldar Gods, because the other battlefields were more difficult and more important than this star system facing a cleansing operation. His compatriots had to remain at their respective posts.
Fortunately, the astrological configuration would not only summon an Eldar God, but also place a curse upon the Burner.
