A ring of high-rises surrounded the activity area at the center of the entire residential district.

People gathered in the activity area. Adults held children in their arms, while the elderly were supported by Iron Men. Everyone in the district stood on the campground plaza at the heart of the forest.

An enormously magnified, lifelike projection appeared before them all.

It showed an elderly-looking old man wrestling hand-to-hand with a Xenos Beast the size of a tank.

That man was Grot.

And Grot, the star of the projection, was now standing amid the crowd with the others, holding a child who looked to be around six years old.

Anyone could tell that the child in Grot's arms was definitely not his biological grandchild, because the child's ears were especially large, while Grot's did not look like that.

But no one cared.

Everyone focused on the footage, on Grot's past.

The projection's main viewpoint came from a girl wearing a safety recorder on her chest.

"Stop filming! Get up and stand off to the side!"

Grot roared at the girl.

The viewpoint immediately rose, then retreated in panic, but the recording continued.

Grot turned around, picked up a chipped axe from the ground, and looked at the Xenos Beast glaring at him.

The beast's limbs were taut as it gathered strength, thick veins tracing horrifying patterns across its body.

Just watching the projection of the beast was enough to make the people present nearly stop breathing.

"You damned animal!"

"I'll gouge out your eyeballs and roast them! I'll dig out your bones and the elements in your body to make an axe that'll never chip!"
