The outer defensive line of the Achamanid Empire's royal capital.
The Pan-Pacific Empire's offensive was astonishingly swift. Although the Achamanids had not underestimated them because of the Pan-Pacific Empire's repeated defeats on the eastern front, the Achamanids' military strength was not high. Now that vast resources had been poured into the ring of urban defenses only for the line to collapse, their disadvantage was inevitable.
Soldiers held back enemies climbing the ten-thousand-year-old walls amid relentless bombardment, repairing breaches blasted open by Black Khitan enhanced soldiers.
When a breach could no longer be sealed, an Achamanid Army soldier would carry a large quantity of explosives.
These soldiers, carrying no weapons and wearing no armor, gathered together and knelt on one knee, their eyes fixed on the irretrievable breach indicated by the Psyker master.
Once the Psyker master judged that the best moment had come, he would nod at the soldiers.
Then the soldiers closed their eyes and spent one second praying.
"Ancestors, protect me."
After praying, they rose and charged toward the breach in the high wall.
Pan-Pacific Empire warriors, having slaughtered all the Achamanids near a breach and paused to prepare for their next assault, would be struck by the charge. Masses of Achamanids launched suicidal attacks that blew the breach apart, burying themselves and the enemy's splattered flesh beneath rubble.
Along the bombarded sections of the high wall's defensive line, the Achamanids suffering the fiercest shelling and attacks were instead the most fervent, because they knew their emperor was on the wall.
Emperor Dur of the Imperium walked atop the high wall.
His guard of battle Psykers had already been sent to areas that were about to fall.
He wore the most eye-catching attire.
An incomparably magnificent emperor's ceremonial robe, filled with the traditional style of the Achamanid Empire.
