The new book was almost ready.

First, the protagonist would be a Psyker—a very special Psyker.

He would first be taken in by the White Scars Chapter and inherit the name Qin Xia.

(Qin Xia was an official 30K Horus Heresy character, the "Lord of the Keshig" of the Fifth Legion. He was grievously wounded by Aeldron, a fallen member of the Emperor's Children, at Karyum. While near death, he was rescued by a loyalist Thousand Sons named Ahriman, but he still died. Note: Ahriman might have been the first Grand Master of the Grey Knights.)

The protagonist would then be trained as a Librarian by the White Scars Chapter, but just as he was about to undergo the modifications, he would be snatched away by the Grey Knights and transformed into a Grey Knight.

The reason I chose to have the protagonist inherit Qin Xia's name was because, in the official setting, Qin Xia had indirect or direct connections to both the White Scars and the Grey Knights.

After that, the protagonist would travel from Warhammer 40,000 to the Horus Heresy and become the adoptive father of a Primarch named Angron.

(Traveling from Warhammer 40,000 to the Horus Heresy was not impossible. Caliban, the homeworld of the First Legion, was blown up in the Horus Heresy by the Dark Angels Chapter from ten thousand years in the future.)

The protagonist's origins might seem a little roundabout, but believe me, there was a reason I arranged for him not to travel directly to the Horus Heresy, but to take a detour through Warhammer 40,000 first.
